If someone would be so kind to post a good picture of the the battery with the correct heat shield and red cap installed on a LHD drive 550. Google images was a bit useless in this case. Thx Already.
Hopefully these will help you: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144738876-post55.html http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144735063-post51.html
The original one is polished stainless steel from what I can see. Ideal thing would be to have the battery in the trunk/luggage compartmen far away from the heat inside the engine compartment.
Here you go. Excuse me for the poor wiring of the Ctek cable. Will be improved any day... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Try to borrow a shield from someone as a template and I'm sure any metal sheet shop should be able to make one for you. It can't be so expensive, it's a simple shape, thin stainless steel, approx 0,5-0,8mm and a standard rubber protection on top.
Normally I would do that, but I have yet to see another 550 in the wild where I live....o And than he has to have the shield in place and allow me to dismantle it.... I will try the lotto first!
