that was from one of the mag reviews..i think they just altered the orig color in this pic...it looked like rosso corsa
Fred the Rosso Fuoco shade can be seen on the 599 parked by the yellow 458 in the pictures just above. CH
Dave you may be right about the magazine altering the printed color. It sort of reminds me of the muddy color that Rosso Rubino turns in certain low light situations. CH
Do you think it is a mistake or they did it on purpose to get a different look for the cars shown? The press cars provided all seemed to be red... CH
It's almost certainly done on purpose to get an arty shot for the mag. It's quite a common treatment and quite often applied to scenes that feature primaries like red. It can make images a little more intriguing when the colours become more complex.
This 458 at speed front view really shows some of the subtle design features of the car. CH Image Unavailable, Please Login
This second higher view from the side further illustrates the intricate sculptured bodywork clearly. CH Image Unavailable, Please Login
while I don't think it is the cleanest design and there are some elements I don't like... It is a VAST improvement over the 430. I like how "organic" it looks. It looks like someone drew it by hand as opposed to with a ruler (like a lambo). I am not a big fan of the 430 style wise. It never did it for me. it looked ok... just not sexy enough for me
While the magazine used the deep red 458 image it is actually unchanged from how it appears in the original version image in the Ferrari 458 brochure. It would seem to be a new Ferrari shade. CH
