Went down to London last week and configured my car, which was a great experience, and not something I ever dreamed I'd be doing. Still a year to wait but after a lengthy test drive I'm more than content to do so, personally I found it a much better and more refined drive than the 458 which I know isn't everyone's opinion. It was also outrageously fast, and to my experience more of a fun occasion than the 650S which I found great but a bit clinical.

Anyway here's what I put together. I should also note that the exhaust tips I had specified black although the software doesn't support displaying this, engine surround is carbon, paint is metallic black and also mine is RHD.

I saw that car - I think the Speciale wheels look a bit weird in the computer renders but better in person, I'll keep an eye out for more photos as time goes on though...

Some owners who have had both the nero and the nero daytona metallic prefer the plain black for a cleaner look. If you have seen the metallic black on a car then for sure get it but just be aware of the difference that doesn't always come across in a paint sample.
I like how you used the yellow accent on the seats and stitching. You can also order the stitching in a different thickness to. The optional wheels are lighter and their design seems more intricate than the standard wheels.
Now all you need is patience!

Bump! Delivery confirmed for first week of March 2017. Drove an F12 the other week which in all honesty felt incredible fun and a handful but not as quick.

Has anyone seen a config with matte black wheels yet? I've been looking for similar specs to this to compare my choices without too much luck!

488 feels quicker than F12?! Now that's saying something!

    Which one sounds nicer??

Genuinely so - the shove in the back in the 488 in seemingly any gear at any revs is really alarming at first, both cars that I've felt torque 'punch' like that in were electrically assisted; but I assume this is the turbos and ferraris mapped curves.

I don't think you could find anyone who doesn't smile hearing an F12 on song, but as exhaust sounds go I think it's almost a cartoon or caricature of a conventional V12 sound, if there is such a thing. Not that it isn't beautiful, also the massive induction roar when driving is amazing.

Personally I prefer the more guttural and less romantic sound of the 488, I'm a sucker for the subtle turbo hiss as well. Also having chased my friend in one I can say they put out a huge cloud of heat haze from the back when on the throttle, I'm assuming those turbos run pretty warm...

Very very nice spec. Did you do upgraded radio? I actually found the upgraded sound system to be well worth it for a change . Actually sounds really good . Rear view camera also a nice extra

Offhand I can't actually remember If I specced the camera or not. I definitely didn't go for the sound system - at £4k it just seemed too much. I've got a B&O system in my R8 which is absolutely amazing, and couldn't foresee even the upgraded 488 system living up to it. I am also around loud music pretty much constantly for a living so when driving it's usually classical FM or the engine!

The 488 doesn't just feel faster, it is faster by a fair margin especially when looking at quarter mile times. I think F12 sounds better overall but as far as performance goes there is no contest..
