I daily drive mine so a bit more nit picky about these daily things I run into. I live in Vegas, so maybe the A/C is more noticeable to me but it sucks next to my Porsche. 1. I hate that the mirrors don't fold in automatically. 2. I hate that the top does not operate when moving. (Spider) 3. I hate that the A/C sucks. My Cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab
Two problems/dislikes I have with my 458, first was the exhaust. Ferrari is known for their engines and the tone they produced, the factory system is shameful and an embarrassment for the marque. All of my past Ferraris have sounded fantastic (part of the reason I like these cars). It cost way to much to fix that but at least now it is right. Second one are those after thought side marker lights, crap Maserati got it right on my Q4. What the hell happened there. Someone had to much vino for lunch? Other than that this is best one(of six)I have had the pleasure of owning and driven(at least a dozen others). The ergonomics, attention to detail and Pininfarina out did themselves on the body and interior design. To me this thing is gorgeous P.S. LOL almost forgot my first world problem/3rd dislike, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE AIRHORNS, THE DAMN THING SOUNDS LIKE A FRIKIN' BUICK!!!
have heard complaints about "cowl" - curious as to what speeds they are experiencing that - as I drive my '14 spider hard and have not had any true "cowl" issues.
I never understood two things in my spider 1) why can't you turn the air vents to hit yourself? If you want cold or warm air on a day that isn't perfect the vents are useless 2) why is it when you put the top down the window go up? Most of the time you put the top down and then have to press the buttons to move them down.
No idea.......bought mine used and it's pretty loaded. The original owner should have paid closer attention. I have the option in my settings on my Turbo S and have it set so they auto close when door locks so figured Ferrari could throw that in or just maybe never thought of the idea. My problem I think is that I'm comparing the cars functions Porsche vs Ferrari and they need to catch up. Which also brings me to the wind deflector on the 458 spider is totally useless and the one on the Turbo S rocks. Easy guys......I love my Ferrari but doubtful anyone that owns both these cars would argue any of these points. My Cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab
My Turbo S Cab does the same thing. The bright side is you know the roof cycle is complete when the windows start going up so it's time to let go of the button. My Cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab
That it has a Takata air bag, which needs to be replaced. (2010s and 2011s) http://blog.caranddriver.com/massive-takata-airbag-recall-everything-you-need-to-know-including-full-list-of-affected-vehicles/#update
Not sure about others, but my '14 Spider air vents hit me just fine in the driver's seat, and the AC is so good I almost never have the fan on the highest speed (and I live in FL, daily temp lately has been mid/upper 90's). Jim
Two things, don't "hate" them, but could be better: 1. The non-intuitive (to me) infotainment system, and double use of control buttons. 2. The "keyless" entry....why have it and then make the key part of the entry (alarm) and starting process??? Minor items really, the car is fun to drive, and I drive it almost daily. Jim
I see a huge difference in ac (stock is not that great) when I tint my side windows with crystalline 35% and windshield 70%. I guess amount of heat blocked by high end tint allow ac to be adequate.
Have the full electric seats but that must be separate also? My Cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab
Had a 458 spider 2014 1) the crazy electronics clicking when you get to a stop; drivers side left of wheel it seems 2) pulling top down full stop 3) no Bluetooth audio!?!? I had the connector but seriously!? 4) infotainment...wow 5) key Seriously though...the car is amazing, AC worked great for me but I don't live in Vegas
German engineering vs. Italian everything....As my salesman said to me...the navigation and radio sound aren't the best....I said I am not buying it for the radio or navigation.... I had 3 Porsches before this car and I barely remember anything about them after driving a Ferrari for 2 years. It is my weekend driver....My Porsche was much better suited as an every day driver which I did for awhile....
