Managed to trade myself out of my 458 into a 488 yesterday. I will post more pics later. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats. Are your side sills carbon fiber? If so, can you please post some up close photos of them? Thank you.
I already spent a little time in a 488 prior to this. It does everything better but sound IMO. Can't beat that 458 sound. Ill give a more in depth review after some time with it.
Put about 100 miles on it yesterday. Some wont want to hear it...and I am like the worlds largest 458 fan. The 488 feels so much better in every way to me that it is almost hard to believe they are built by the same company. Power is no contest and all the turbo noises are awesome. Most surprising is how much better it rides, its smoother ride by a good bit. Soaks up bumps much differently. The sound of the exhaust I like but it is not as good as a 458 for sure. The Stereo is worse in these it seems like than the 458. Not that I would use it much but just gave it a play and it was ****. There is a delay as well from where you turn it up or down and it has a hesitation. I will post more pictures soon. Here is a quick video we made of us picking it up: https://www.facebook.com/graphicdisorder/videos/10155802239875884/ I am not as wealthy as most people here and I came from nothing. So to get a new Ferrari for me was a pretty big deal. Even getting my pretty used 458 was huge for me not even 10 months ago and yes it's financed. I prefer to put my cash into my business and ill finance my cars.
I think you will find most Ferrari owners on this board are true car lovers, not super wealthy. We all have invested more money in cars than most would consider rational. It is our passion and desire to enjoy these cars and most of us could care less what others have to say about it. Glad to hear you are impressed with the 488. My spider has an April build slot so I am getting more and more impatient as the days pass. Enjoy the ride!!
Hi Graphicdisorder I have enjoyed reading your post for a couple of reasons. Firstly you are one of the few that has back to back ownership of the 458/488 and it is really good to hear your views, my car turns up In a few months and I really can't wait, and reading these posts gets me even more excited. The other thing that you mention in your post is that your are not as wealthy as most on here. I'm in a similar situation to you I have worked really hard for everything I have after starting with nothing, and it has been a lifelong dream to have a brand new Fcar, and I eventually have found the means to achieve this- so I kinda know how you're feeling with this. Congratulations on the new car, and please keep the posts coming. Regards Michael
