My car is black but people keeping coming up to me and saying it should be red. Does anyone else get that? I have always had red Ferraris but fancied a change this time.
Same here, when looking at ferrari, I was enamored with silver and grey, seeing that almost all my cars are that color, my wife being Italian born and migrated to canada for me said that if you get a ferrari it has to be red, I hesitated but am glad I did so for the 2015 458....but for the 812S that I have an allocation anx deposit for, I might still entertain another color.....but damn that new red is hot on that car.
I have a Titanio F12 and virtually every time a person feels compelled to comment it is nearly always the same, "What a gorgeous car and I am glad it is not red."
So far, no one. To the contrary, people often say that they love the color (TdF) and praise my choice of not getting a red car.
My 458 was Nero and no one ever said anything but damn that looks good. If anyone did say anything, I'd tell them to kiss my a$$.
ALL FERRARI'S SHOULD BE RED ! Then my Grigio Titanio 488 would look even better than it already does.
I had black, then went to red for about 3 years. I went with Argento Nurburgring on my 488. I do like red but needed a change. I don't see near as many red Ferraris as I used to.
I couldn't make my mind up between a Grigio ferro or red 458. I went for Grigio. That's a year ago. Still glad I made that choice . It would seem almost everyone's first Ferrari is red ( and to be honest red will always be Ferrari colour ) and mine was a 355 and I was no different. I have only had one person tell me my 458 should be red ( a non Ferrari owner ) every one else was glad to see it wasn't red. Would my next one be red ? Not sure. I would be hard pushed not to get it in ferro though Image Unavailable, Please Login
I get it a lot when driving my yellow Speciale I always answer either one of these: Everyone's got a red ferrari and I wanted something different Or My other one is red [which is also true]. But I love their reaction because some of them try to be a smart ass and then they get shocked. My DD is a Lamborghini and I get a fair amount of people tell me that Ferrari's are better. I just smile and say I know
Years ago, at a local auto show in upstate New York, a gentleman from Canada showed his beautiful silver Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 coupe. The Ontario Province license plate was "NOT RED." That probably stopped the "Why not red?" question in its tracks! Fred
The new standard color for fire engines (trucks) in the USA and many other countries are now yellow, replacing red that once believed to be the brightest and most visible color in traffic and in low light settings. The new yellow ironically is very close to the Ferrari giallo modena. My point...an outstanding car like the 458 and Ferrari's in general deserve to standout, whether in traffic, on the track, or by itself. To some, rosso corsa and others grigio, blanco, or nero. Science tells us that it is giallo! It happens to be my favorite as well.
Actually when I went to get my 458 insured, the guy started filling all the paperwork and didn't even asked me the color of my car. He assumed it was red, because it's a Ferrari. Had to call back and asked them to correct it. Spoke with the guy again, he said he was sorry and he didn't know a Ferrari could be white from factory! Kind regards, Nuno.
I had someone tell me that they thought that a Ferrari would look " more red" after seeing mine. Mine is yellow.
It's lighter than silverstone but not as light as silver. Looks fantastic in the sun. £7000 option here in the uk
