Why were you short-shifting if I may ask?

Awesome! You definitely hit one of the marks on my bucket list. Spa is my all time favorite track and really hope someday to drive there!

I left the car at the Ferrari dealer on Monday, there are error codes with the engine management and they're waiting for information from Ferrari...

Update on the issue (engine refusing to stop): when informed with the recorded error codes the factory provided a software upgrade for the steering wheel ECU (because there is a steering wheel ECU appafrently, believe it or not)... that cleared the engine management error codes and should have solved the issue (since the factory almost immediately provided the upgrade, it is assumed the problem was actually known).
Of course, this was taken care of as part of the warranty.
Besides, the car needed front brake pads replacement and cleaning of the discs drills (which implied taking the discs off).
In spite of documented internet stories of the car (mostly 458, but I suppose 488 should do the same) eating its rear brakes because of the electronics making it automatically braking the rear wheels to help the car cornering, the rear brake pads did not need replacing.

The rear pad eating it usually down to poor driving while leaving the ESC in sport or race. It's generally a case of a slow driver that is just plowing into the throtttle in 2 and 3 gear letting the car do all of the throttle management while the right foot is planted. This is what will kill the rear brakes. If you roll on the throttle appropriately, modulate based on feel and grip or drive back from the limit of acceleration your rear pads will last a long time.
