I drive in Sports modus and Auto 90% of the time. And flipper too ... f.i. when braking ... When needed to ... I go to Race and flipper ... And Wet if it is wet ... to prevent to slip off the road ...
In traffic, whether wet or dry, I suggest wet mode. The throttle mapping is less hair trigger sensitive and easier to modulate. In most other street driving race mode seems best. Whatever you do, don't turn it off and get on one of *those* videos.
I drive in CT mode almost always, unless im leaving my neighborhood in the early AM then I will put it in sport so the valves say closed longer. Sport is boring, Wet is for only when its overly wet....
Then I would have to say we drive the same. Turn off bumpy rode setting when driving slowly around city streets.
I generally drive in Race, except (a) I use Sport mode until the engine warms up and (b) I hit the Bumpy Road button if I'm on a bumpy road. I almost never use Auto.
I change it for whatever I need at the moment. Stop and go traffic? I go wet and auto. Regular driving - sport and bumpy road around town, no bumpy road on smooth highway. Carving up an on ramp of offramp? - Race. Hooning around in parking lot or cul-de sac- all off. I generally do not CST or all off unless I am PLANNING on inducing slip angle. The manitino is where it is so you can move it around as desired. Use what you got, thats why they put it there.
Race/Bumpy. But it depends where YOU live. If below 50c and or moist I would be sport or wet. Most likely I'd be in a different car.
I use Sport for relaxed driving and Race in other situations, bumpy mode selection depending on street/road configuration. If driving sensibly I think wet mode is pretty useless.
70% sport/bumpy due to our lovely Michigan roads. 20% sport 10% race I was not aware you could do race/bumpy; I thought bumpy was only available on sport. dustman: 50C or F?
99% race mode.. 1% wet (basically when coming home and not wanting to wake anyone up).. life's too short Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May I say I think several of the responses here are not helpful - OP admits to being a beginner so references to WOT (for example) are the cause of some of those videos referred to in the only sensible reply #3 If it were me I'd start by learning the car in wet then some sport and finally a little race once confident to see which felt best for my use pattern - maybe add in a session or two of track / DE to help develop
90% race mode on with bumpy road option also on. A friend gave me (and I've been able to verify this) an interesting tip: switch to sport mode some 20-30kms before refuelling. This will pratically eliminate air in the system that otherwise makes you take 20 minutes to refuel, due to the hose going off almost everytime you touch it. Kind regards, Nuno.
10% Comfort - Highway drives no point in race when you are just same low throttle position 70% Race - Around town 20% CST Off - Because I'm a public nuisance and can't resist stepping the back end out
I would argue that Wet is not very helpful to learn because the behaviour is (almost) completely disconnected from driver's inputs. Learning by being initially cautious in Sport and going to Race after having gained some confidence makes more sense to me.
