458 Spider engine bay heat ????

    Hello all. I have had my F430 spider for about a year now and oh my does the engine bay get hot, one could almost fry an egg on the glass. Most all the 430 owners open the rear deck after a drive to vent the heat soak out.

    So the question is, Does the 458 either model have the same excessive heat soak??

    Thank you.

    And yes I soon will be on the hunt for a 458

    I have a 458 Italia (coupe) and yes the engine glass cover does get hot - in fact, when putting the car away for a few days I don't put the cover on the car for at least 12 hours after driving. However, I would not be concerned about it. I suppose they were designed to take that heat..

    I had a spider and I don't recall it being an issue. In fact the top stores back there literally on top of the engine and I had a leather headliner. It never appeared to be a problem, even in Vegas.

    All car hoods get hot, not just mid engine cars.

    458 spider much less heat, but I still open the lid

    Heat not an issue on the Italia. In any case, recommend to open the engine lid immediately after parking, for heat to escape faster.
