Hello Max
I did 3 breakfast runs recently on the NSHW , first time i drive the GTB up , tyre pressure was at 2.2 Front and 2.1 Rear when cold . Have the same feeling as you during 210 - 260 km/h . Did not push it further . Second run , i release the tyre pressure to 2.0 Front and 1.9 rear , run was almost prefect . No more such feelings at all . Ride felt planted at all speeds , up to 310km/h . Third Run , same results as second run . Going for another one this Sunday , have just increased the Tyre pressure today to 2.3 Front and 2.1 Rear . Will let you know if that unstable feeling comes back . Stock GTB , running 20 inch wheels . |

Maybe it was a difference in road quality? I felt that the road we travelled on the first time you took your car up to 300+ was significantly bumpier than the roads we've been travelling on over the past few days.

I think the wieght and rebalance on the wheel/rims worked for you, it did for me. Sometimes a good rebalance person will move the tire over the rim to help off set the rim problems/defects from the manufacture so the rim will need less weight when balanced correctly with the tire imperfections as well. With the 5g of balance wieght removed and a good balance job may have solved or help solve the problem. Sometimes the car manufactures rush this step to get the car out to the public. That is why some wheel balancer machines are better than others. Hunter balancer puts a load on the wheel as it rotates to simulate real world road conditions and tells the guy exactly where to place the wieght for best performance while measuring the rim fro being true and within the manufactures tollerances. |

That doesn't seem right at all. Why don't you grab one of the service guys at your local dealership and take him for a spin. Take care of it as soon as possible.

I haven't been at 300k lately but sometimes full tread depth tires squirm at speed. Now that the tires are worn it may have stopped.

they refused to go across the border with me ... & not much point locally as the controls are pretty darn tight ...

Perhaps high cross wind is the factor?
