599 GTO prices

    I made the terrible mistake of trying, say a year ago, a 599 GTO. I thought it was the most wonderful car I had driven in years, made my 458 seem lame, and made my 599 feel underdeveloped. But the price. 12 months ago, a low mileage red car was in the Uk say £280k. I though, well that is a near £200k increase over the GTB and I could not justify it. I had even in my mind convinced myself that GTO prices would soften a little (I thought mid £250k's nothing more) as F12 came along. A few others thought the same. WRONG. Damn it they are now going up... Uk cars now advertised at £350k , I missed the boat, unless I sell up other things.

    Have to say, the GTO owners did say that the car was a keeper, and I think, with the F12 awesome as it is, maybe not ticking all of the boxes, a number have decided to keep the 599 GTO as probably the last of a type. IMHO it looks better than the fussy F12, yes it is slower, but it is one drama machine, and sounds like heaven.

    Many will still question the GTO, but I agree with owners, it really is a special car, and for such new car, it is amazing that prices are on the up. Jealous... yep just a bit. May have to go to an F12 (that is hardly setting the world alight as slightly used...)

    Wait until the F12 GTO comes. It may not have the GTO moniker, but prices of the GTO will drop.

    Also, continental european GTOs are depreciating and I don't know why UK should be so different. Finally, there's a subtle distinction between ask and final sale price.

    Uk seems rigid on prices, and as I say, have risen. Is there any guarantee they will produce a F12 "GTO type" car ? May have to go left hand drive then.

    Ferrari will have a special version of each model but I doubt that they will make another GTO for a while.

    A couple of GTOs on sale currently in Dubai with about 1200 Km on the clock. Asking price 250K GBP but I am sure the dealer will take less as these have been on the market for a while.

    To make a GTO version of the F12, Ferrari would first have to produce an F12 FXX-like model. The chassis on the GTO is a modified FXX chassis, not a modified 599 chassis.

    500k US, I too am now looking for one.

    The only thing that pushes me away is that it's still a 599. If the car was separate to the production line and looks then it will def increase in value but I only want to buy a Ferrari that would have some future appreciation.

    So where do we stand? Would it be a model that would appreciate in the future and one that would be in demand, we just don't know.

    Best of all worlds, FXX chassis and F12 motor but still an F1 w/gorgeous 599 lines. The 599 GTO is just the best of the best, and the last of a now bygone era. It's the one Ferrari that if I could afford it, I'd probably try to keep forever. If prices dip on them, I really doubt it'll be for long. There's a rossa/nero on cars.com now for $100k off the rest of the pack because it has 7k miles. At $399k asking, it's probably a bargain depending on overall condition.

    Yeah it's a totally different beast but I mean that it shares it's platform unlike the F40, F50 etc that are unique with their own shape and features.

    All in all the 599 GTO is one of my favs.

    I think white looks amazing on the 599 body. I'll take flak for it, but my favorite on the GTO is giallo modena.
