My New 599

Ended up getting a great deal from Reliable, $1300 from Denver.

 

I do. And in getting her reverted back to stock, removing fake shields, returning stock wheels, I'm really feeling the love, started doing extras like stickies, leather repair, etc. May keep them both for a while.

 

That's how she's ending up in my garage. Truly a bucket list car. I have been watching for a 599 in this color combination that I could afford as long as I've been into Ferrari's. I was hours away from buying a cali and did one last due dilligence pass and found this beauty. She'd just been posted, didn even have pics yet. It hit cars.com on a Saturday and I had a deposit on her Monday morning. There was a backup deposit on her from someone else by that afternoon.

 

Jealous and happy for you. That too has been on my bucket list for years. I gave up and bought my 612 in NART and will never be completely satisfied that she isn't rubino or fiorano. And ultimately that's why I will not keep her.

 

You know, after parking my 612 with aftermarket rims and stick on shields in a place of high visibility at the Ferrari Club of America national Concours d'Elegance here in Virginia last month...I think I now understand. It's not easy, but at this time I do not intend to modify this 599 in any way. I'm also restoring the 612 to stock. Shields are already off. That's the one thing I would have ordered differently on this 599, but maybe God is teaching me a lesson to stop with the stickon sheilds already. I had them on my 360 spider, too.

 

Don't cringe, I still want a Cali. My kids and I will really enjoy it, and that matters to me. My guess is I will make the 612 even more a keeper (for someone else) over the coming months and next spring, provided we bring in the business I'm expecting, pick up a Cali and if the 612 is still here put her on consignment.
