I know that most people here are familiar with the concept of putting cars away for the winter but in Dubai its actually quite common to put your car away for the summer.

With temperatures expected to be around a scorching 114° around the end of the month and even higher during August a lot of people put their exotics in storage until the end of the summer. This year I decided to do this as well mainly because I already have enough sticky buttons in my car from last summer :)

(That, plus the fact that I am going to be away on a long holiday for the next month or so)

In any case, I am using CarSafe UAE and their facility is very good. Some pics below from when I dropped off my car. They supply everything including model specific car covers, battery conditioner and even tire cradles to prevent flat spots.

I can see a lot of great cars. Any pics from the Ford GT without the cover?

A very good idea... saving your ferrari from choking to death in this dusty hell (Middle East in summer)

This facility is Nic Cage 's next target for the Sequel of "Gone in 60 secondes"

What a serious bunch of sick cars you must find there !

Great - I have some available underground parking spaces in the Marina - Emaar building.

Let me know if you need it -

I lived in Dubai during this time last year.

    Three things I remember:
    - If it's warm enough I'll sweat on my fingertips (like really sweaty fingertips that feel sweaty). This was a new experience to me.
    - Everything in Dubai is airconditioned, except most parking houses. My cold chins (from the car A/C) felt like they had bursted out in fire when I exited the car on several occasions. Air condition all you want, but you won't fully get away from the heat.
    - Getting in a car that had been parked outside in the sun is unbearable and I can totally understand why you barely seen any old classics there during summer months (the A/C generally sucks on old cars)

Also: There's little nature has to offer, but then again I'm spoiled..

Maybe it's normal for those of you living in Texas, Miami etc., but it was too much for someone who appreciates a cold breeze every now and then...

Thanks. I have underground parking at my office as well but I wanted a place with 24 hour security and a couple of guys who make sure that everything is OK with the car as time goes by.

The garage at my house is pretty good as well but there is too much glass and aluminium so it gets crazy hot inside. If I had left the car there for a month the interior would be a runny, sticky goo by the time I got back :)

These guys have two facilities, the other one was already completely full and couldn't take any more cars. This one had about 80 to 100 cars when I was there. Most were Ferraris but a few Lambos, McLarens, Bentleys, Rolls Royce and one Fort GT.

Yeah ... you generally don't want to do that during the summer. Parking a car out in the sun is a bad idea :)

More like Death Valley in Arizona ... but humid like Miami :)

No F40, F50 or Enzo there at the time. At least I didn't spot one but to be honest I didn't snoop around too much and the staff there are very careful to protect client's privacy. I did ask a couple of questions about a some of cars that were not covered but the staff politely declined to comment about the owners etc.

I drive a Range Rover and a Mercedes ML during the really hot summer months in Dubai.
Right now I am on holiday with the family and I have a Skoda Yeti that I use at my holiday home. :)

    Love the Yeti :)
