    Quick piece of advice please:
the garage says the front tyres on my 612 look like they need replacing
(3-4 mil tread but with flat spots / feathered edges)

I currently have P Zero Rossos all round.
So should I put new versions of the same on the front or something different?

Note - I don't want to change the rears yet as they are still good and the rest of the service is expensive enough!

    Thanks!

Normally, tire wear depends on the mileage.

It is my understanding that a 612 will burn through tires in about 8-10K miles on P Zeros, depending on how aggressive you drive.

You might also want to check your alignment, which could cause excessive wear.

I would not recommend mixing different brands of tires. If your going to change brands, then you should probably change all 4 tires. $$$$$

    Good luck.

Nick- If you can get them in the correct sizes, I would put on Michelin Pilot Super Sports all around. They cost way less than the P Zeros and are a much superior tire in wear, ride, braking and handling. Cannot ask for much more than that.

I am running the Michelins on the front and P Zero Rossos on the rear until I get my new wheels (have tires already) for the rears, but I am being very careful driving with a mixed set of tires.

Michelin doesn't make 305/35/20 so I can't swap to Michelins????

Owners have been fitting GTO size of 315/35 20 to 599s with no problems. Those are less than 1% larger than the 305/35 20s. For the 612, owners have a choice of OEM size 285/35 20 or slightly larger 295/35 20, again less than 1% larger in diameter.

Thanks Taz, great advice as always.
I got a quote for both - the supersports are quite expensive to fit all round + need to be ordered, so I'm going to put new p zeros on the fronts for now and then replace all four with supersports when the rear p zeros need replacing.

Nick- Sounds like a wise decision. If the fronts wore prematurely, consider having a 4 wheel suspension alignment done to make them last a bit longer.

Had to go with the PZero, no choice with my aftermarket wheels... Hopefully they are better than the 6 year old ones they are replacing...

Which wheels are those? If I had not swapped my NF2 wheels, I would have changed my 355/25 19 PZero Rossos for 345/30 19 MPSS tires. Have not looked at the equivalent 20" sizes for extra wide wheels.

I use the bridgestones on the 612...they do a nice job for a GT....I use the Michelins on the 2 seaters usually....

I have the original pzero rossos 245/40 zr19 front and 285/40 zr 19 rear that came with the car so 8 years old... not much wear as the car only has 3600 miles but i am looking at replacing because of age and my tpms are complaining, i guess batteries expired.. best bet Michelin super sport summers... tire rack has two.. Michelin super sport and Michelin super sport ps2 which ones would be recommended?

The MPSS tires are far superior to the PS2s and are also less expensive in the US. Just fitted MPSS tires to my 575M and they are a huge improvment over the PZero Rossos.

305/35/20 PZero. Big difference with the 6 year old trashed PZero, more comfort and much better grip. I could spin the wheels in second, not anymore...
