Hello all, A tough question for you, that I hardly can find the answer. I bought a 599 GTO lately and it seems the Alcantara door cover is not original - could be installed after purchase, probably not Ferrari. Please find the photo of the interior enclosed, so the question : 1) installed from factory ? 2) aftermarket ? Thanks for your answers Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The arm rest and lower section are definitely factory.....the other 'additional' trim around the upper section of the door seems after market.
I assume nothing. Did your GTO need to be modded from stock to enter your Country ? Many Countries (such as the US) have unique safety requirements and therefore a US spec GTO may appear slightly different than say a Euro GTO (ie. the orange sidemarkers). IMHO an authorized F car dealer would be able to ascertain whether a car was modded in any manner by a careful examination of the materials. Did you buy from an authorized dealer or private sale ? If private sale did you do a PPI ? I'd think a PPI would have turned up any mods. My car has several non-stock solely aesthetic mods (ie. carbon shields and wheelcaps, novitec sidemarkers, etc.) that are reflected in the sellers/prior owners book of records and not on the build sheet. If you received a book of records on your GTO any aftermarket work should be reflected in the aforesaid book (which should contain the build sheet).
Big thanks for your answer, it seems aftermarket and I am afraid this could lower the resale value of the GTO - I will probably have changed for the factory doors, Tessuto technico fabric. Not as nice, but definitely original... But must cost a fortune I am afraid :-(
Ask a local franchise dealer to download the original factory order spec from his computer to be sure
looks like the color from the alcantara from the part that surrounds the armrest is different from the part that can be used to store maps, etc My EU GTO does not have the Airbag word stitched in red while i have red stitching on my black alcantara
I have the spec, see below - but don't see this additional trim around the door, but hard to understand what is written. Is it "internal color" ? ---- External Color. . . . . . . . . . . 65427400 ROSSO CORSA DS 322 ---- Internal Color. . . . . . . . . . . 364000000 EXTRACAMPIONARIO-NOT STANDARD ---- Carpets Color. . . . . . . . . . . 364000000 EXTRACAMPIONARIO-NOT STANDARD CALR RED BRAKE CALIPERS CXSS UNDERDOOR COVER IN CARBON LOOK INTA ALCANTARA UPHOLSTERY 364708500 ALCANTARA NERA 9913 PNTG TWO COLOUR PAINTING 094083993 GRIGIO SILVERSTONE OPACO RPMW WHITE REV COUNTER RSCH CARBON FIBRE RACING SEATS 094078317 SEDILI TAGLIA LARGE STC1 ALL STITCHINGS IN COLOUR 364100504 ROSSO (RED) 0504 T3D1 INTERIOR 3D FABRIC COLOUR 364700761 TESSUTO T3D1 NERO
I don't see the "interior 3D fabric" on my build sheet. Maybe the "interior 3D fabric" is a different texture/look ? It just might be OEM factory alacantra or whatever, but seems a bit different, hence the feeling that its aftermarket.
Hello my Czech brother! Check out this link to a client's 599 GTO: https://www.flickr.com/photos/lotussouthpointe/sets/72157639746639605/ I believe that your interior looks to be factory. The 3D Tech Fabric is the material on the middle of the driver's and passenger's seat (Nero in your case) Hope this helps!
Looks like you have an all alcantara interior based on what I can see on the seats, center console, sill, and dash. The stitched word "air bag" appears to be original. It is stitched if you have the standard technical fabric interior. It is embossed when it is in leather. I haven't seen an all alcantara interior but it makes sense to stitch those words when the interior is all alcantara. I think it's factory.
Marmist please dont waste time of the others and bring something constructive. To answer your question, nicest GTO's in Europe are not advertized - i bought mine from a Ferrari Specialist who has among many others F40's, Dino, 308GTS Turbo, Scuderia's and other 430 and 599. If you want to buy some, let me know
Hello Ryan, Thanks for this, but if you look closely the airbag (this squared part on the top) of mine is Alcantara and yours (and all the others I have seen) is leather. Strange, would it be possible that Ferrari produced few GTO with Alcantara instead of leather ?
Your build sheet clearly says INTA ALcantara Upholstery - why do you still think this is non-standard ?
You have it here, see picture (Ferrari price list) - I am not sure it is standard, because there shouldn't be Alcantara on this place with INTA. But as always with Ferrari, nothing is sure :-( so reason I am asking your opinion. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm no expert but checked my car. I have alcantara on my GTO and it was delivered new to me. The stitching pattern on your car unfortunately looks different from mine and it seems to be puckered (mine lies flat while your pic shows it raised) suggesting per your concern it is aftermarket. It would bug me too. Why anyone would want the words "Air Bag" colour coded is beyond me.
I'm reticent to make this post, but I have to say that this Marmist person seems to be the archetype troll. Marmist has a comment on all things Ferrari. My guess is that he doesn't own a Ferrari and probably never has. That in and of itself would be no issue if he was here to educate himself with respect to the acquisition of a car. I'd also dare to say that he is highly critical in a most pejorative manner in many of his posts. Jealousy ? Not for me to say. Waste of our time ? Absolutely. A denigrater ? Absolutely. Either way, I think Marmist is in the wrong forum. I think he should be in the vespadreamers.com forum. Probably more realistic for him to dream of acquiring something Italian after he graduates from college (or maybe high school). Marmist if you have nothing nice to say then kindly refrain from commenting and wasting everybodies time. We get it - you don't like the GTO. So don't comment here anymore. Opinions are like a-holes everyones got one so take yours elsewhere.
Believe that is all factory work. The Build or Option Sheet shows the carpets and interior were custom (extracompanario). All kinds of fancy stuff was possible, and you just got lucky. Looks great.
I concur with the others. The more I look at your interior shots the more your she looks highly customized, but pure OEM (factory), with the 3D fabric and all alacantra spec. Bottom line is that your GTO is a true beauty and you will hopefully cherish her for many years.
Thanks, pitty that i have no direct contact in Ferrari @ Maranello to have it checked and sure. If anyone could help, this would be really nice VIN is ZFF70RDB000174759.
