Pretty sure there was an extensive thread a few months ago - try advanced search manual titles only 599 section
I own both, an 06 manual 6spd 612 Scaglietti (148935) and a 07 manual 6spd 599 HGTE (150551). Both cars should be in "My Garage"
You have my respect. Not many people can claim having two modern V12 Ferraris with MT. I also noticed the Jag - I used to have the rare XJR-S version (TRW collaboration).
Thanks man, I really do enjoy them. Im a big Jaguar and especially BRG color fan, so years ago when I saw the XJR coupe I had to have it. I'm still looking for the Nero Daytona/Cuoio 575 Superamerica 6spd manual car that I hear exists out there somewhere in the states..... anyone??
Way cool - both must be incredible to drive with proper transmissions. As for the original question, it's my understanding that only 20 manual 599s came to the states.
I've heard 20-30. But I can only account for 5. one Pozzi, one Rosso Corsa, one Silver, one TDF and my Grigio Silverstone.
I can account for 26 between the US and Canada: Red: 3 Gray: 3 Red/tan: 5 Red/black: 1 Gray/charcoal or black: 2 Gray/tan: 1 Blue/tan: 2 Blue/red: 1 Black/tan: 1 Black/black: 7
Well, the 599 will be up for sale soon. And most likely the 612 as well. I am working on another Fcar purchase and don't need to have three Fcars!
Last time I saw a blue tan 599 6spd was a year ago and it was for sale. I am amazed with the performance of the vehicle. By time I thought about shifting I should've already shifted. All I can say is what an animal. The 550 and 575 feel so tamed compared to the 599
Taz - That is the Unicorn for me..... I want a 6spd Superamerica. Well, as long as the top has already been replaced!!!
Andrew- Tops do not normally need replacing unless they have delaminated. Otherwise most problems are caused by the four pneumatic struts in the mechanism getting weak. Simple swap on two, $2K or so on the internal ones.
Considering your tastes, I imagine your next one will also have three pedals. Might I suggest a Barchetta? Whatever it is, I hope you'll be generous enough to post the serial number.
