Someone please set me straight on the topic of cruise control between both models 599 & 612. Thanks in advance!
The 612 offered it with the OTO and Sessanta-- it was an option. Works fine, just like any other cruise control. Was it not offered on the late 599s?
No http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/612-599/423344-cruise-control-599-a.html 2011 Car and Driver article citing the lack of cruise control: 2011 Ferrari 599 HGTE vs. 2012 Lexus LFA Comparison Tests - Page 2 - Car and Driver I always thought it was optional on the 599 but have never seen a car equipped with it.
IMO, the only cruise control you should ever get is the new distronic cruise, which not only maintains speed, but also prevents you from running into something. Most people instinctively take their foot off the gas, when approaching traffic, that does actually slow the car down; with standard cruise control, that does not happen and often leads to an accident, when the driver engages the brakes too late. Adaptive cruise (distronic) solves the issue - usually.
