The November 2014 issue of Automobile has an article on a manual shift 599 and the state of three pedals in the industry and at Ferrari (gone).

The article was exciting. Had a great time reading it yesterday. Love the 599.

Good article. I would love to drive one of those three pedal California's that he mentions.

Just read it. Great article on an incredible car I would love to find an example of. Makes one a bit sad at the loss of such a great part of what connects us to these glorious machines.

I must say I miss the involvement of a three pedal and have seriously thought about a 911 from time to time, though never have been a fan of them. Would it be heresy to give up a California for one?

Though I'm looking foward to delivery of my Speciale, I'm keeping my Porsche 993 and 997RS as much for the 3rd pedal as anything else; it's also a reason I still have my E39 M5 and not a newer variant (though those can still be had with a stick)...

I just read the article. What struck me was that there was no mention of any unsuitability of the manual to the 599. Reading some posts on three pedal 599s on this forum, you'd think the transmission is entirely unsuitable for this car due to gearing or clutch take up or whatever. But there was no mention of that in the article. In fact, the author enjoyed the experience. I guess I will not ever know until I can drive one myself. If I can ever find one, that is.

HA! I love it when people say the car isn't suited for an MT. The car is flat out amazing with three pedals, a TRUE driving experience. The author of the article nailed it.

What, and violate copyright? Seriously, we should support our car mags. Buy a copy.

Most (if not all) of the actual owners/drivers of 3-pedal 599s on this forum love the car. The criticisms tend to come from those who have never driven the car.

By the way ... the transmission in the 3-pedal car is identical to the F1 version.

Probably discussed a thousand times but .... how many 3 pedal 599's were made and how many were US spec ?

FNA says only 31, and about half came to the U.S.

The best Ferrari I've driven to date is a 612 Scaglietti with the manual box, just so engaging to drive, and mega rare!

These cars, along with the couple GTOs that came with manuals (I haven't seen pictures, just read it from good sources on here) will be worth a ton of money in 20+ years.
