Anyone who knows of or has a Black 599 with a manual trans for sale, please contact me Thank you, Richard [email protected]
Dream on : its possible there aren't any : http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/612-599/447733-599-gtb-manual-gearbox.html suggests there could be as few as 6 overall in the States and no more than 56 worldwide in any color
Ron Tonkin GT delivered a black/black 599 manual to a local Portland customer. He has since traded it in on newer Ferraris, but they may know where it went. Previous posts indicate there are about 7 black/black and 1 black/tan manuals in the US. However, when looking for a manual 599, I wouldn't get too set on a specific color. If you find one available in any color you'll be lucky. Happy hunting.
Richard, your location really depends on whether or not you'll be able to find one - ever, if not at some point in the near or distant future. I can tell you that only 20 manuals 599s were made for the states, and of those 20, prying one for someone's ownership (more like collection) will prove almost impossible. If you're abroad, you fair only a slightly better chance of securing a three-pedal F141 ABM. I have seen only a handful of manual 599s in the country - to of which were black, and both of which I drove for literally a foot apiece. While many 599 owners will preach that the V12 shoe-horned into the 599 was designed purely for mating with an F1-style transmission, the very few who own three-pedal 599s know just how special it is to own one. I, myself, wish you the best of luck. And, if by chance, you're able to secure one, I hope you drive the piss out of it - because it really feels like most F141 ABM owners only diaper them and seldom get them out of second gear unless they're putting them in neutral. Go forth, my boy! Seek and ye shall (hopefully) find, and out of piss ye shall drive! ...oh, and please keep us posted.
For the visually stimulated... (don't mind reverse gear, the picture is from a RHD car). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hurts to watch, I grew up with manual, learned to drive on manual, didn't drive automatic until my late 20s so this vid is just painful for me to watch.
He didn't trade it on a newer car, he just didn't like it. He's happened to buy many newer Ferraris since, and before.
That is 151006, a 2006 599 GTB Fiorano that was for sale at Graypaul in April, 2008, black with black interior; RHD, manual - perfect.
I saw one for sale a year or so for sale by the now departed Straight Line motors. I know one is out there..............
Well, I spoke with his son a few weeks ago about that black manual 599 and, whether dad liked it or not, he ended up putting a lot of miles on that car before moving on. Dad was supposedly trying to avoid the single clutch F1 box as long as possible.
