Hi all just picked this up a couple weeks ago from FOS. Car is a 2007 HGTS with 10k miles, 1 owner purchased and maintained at FOS.
All service including belts are up to date. Love the car it's a world of difference from the 2012 Maserati GT I traded!!. I will say the maser was an easier car to navigate traffic and at slow speeds though maybe just mostly due to me getting used to the F1.
So far I have tinted the windows and replaced that God awful stereo with a simple single din Alpine tapped into to the Bose amps and speakers. It really woke up the Bose sound and I can now effortlessly stream pandora as well as BT calls are crystal clear....huge improvement for a mere $560.00
    So a couple questions?
I would like to add a battery tender though looking at the positive side of the box there is like 10 posts and I recall the neg side has 1. Any idea what post is the correct one for both neg and pos?
Wheel spacers... What works and who carries them? Formula dynamics whom I have always gone to for parts in the past does not manufacture them for this car. My goal is to get the wheels flush with opening or close to it any help on sizing needed, bolt pattern and manufacturer would be very much appreciated.
Lastly I want to unplug the exhaust valves though get mixed info. FOS wants $900.00 to do this claiming plumbing is required to avoid a check engine light and it's NOT just a simple pull and plug like the Maser was as some have claimed on this forum. Anyone know this to be true with real world experience of pulling and plugging on the 612 with no ill effects?

Not sure if it is the same on the 612, but on the 599 there is a small panel on the wall of the right side of the trunk - it has a large screw head that you turn with a coin and it pops off. Behind this is the battery tender connector - when the tender is connected, it signals the car, so you cannot accidentally start and drive off while still hooked up.

I have some more photos somewhere, but this should get you started - pic shows the connector and the custom cable I make to connect from the special Ferrari connector to the standard CTEK Comfort connector (if the attach works, that is)

Congrats on the new car and good luck with it!

I'm surprised the car cover and battery tender didn't come with the car since it was a one owner car. You might want to have the dealer check with the previous owner. Maybe he forgot about putting that stuff in the car.

At any rate wkumari is correct. The tender plugs into a port, no need to be attaching to the posts.

All 430's ceased with belts also all 599 - Correct?

Why do some or all 612's still have belts?

The charger port is behind a little triangular cover, no screwdriver necessary (at least on the OTO). I thought it was a standard CTEK plug?

I doubt that it is a standard CTEK plug - perhaps someone changed yours at some point? The standard CTEK is a 2 pin black and orange connector (CTEK Comfort ( or Indicator) Connector). The Ferrari one is a 4 pin black D shaped connector.

Here is a write up I did in reverse engineering the Ferrari one on my F430 ( and then 599GTB): https://www.kumari.net/index.php/cars/ferrari-battery-charger-cable

Sean- They still have belts because it is essentially the same engine as the 575M with manifolding and ECU upgrades. Same displacement and many common parts. Same clutch and other driveline parts. The 599 engine is a modified Enzo engine with production efficiencies (steel rods, etc).

612 was LAST V12 to have the belts and the FIRST all-aluminum V12. The belts are changed every 5 years or so, as part of the MAJOR service. Good news is MAJOR does not require an ultra expensive engine-out, like the Flat-12 engine cars (Boxers, TRs) and some of the modern V8s (348, 355, and possibly Mondial T).

    Enjoy your 612.

I'm questioning that 900 clams for the exhaust valve mod.

I think it's quite simpler than that

    ??

    Lovely car btw ;)

Beauty of a 612. I actually think the Masi drives more 'comfortably', but there's still no comparison to the 612. A lovely cocoon feeling in the 612. Enjoy it.
