Yesterday, in Rome, a driver decided to enter in the shop directly with the car... According to reports, the driver was the valet of the garage where the car has been parked . He was delivering the car to its Dutch owner. Ciao Andrea Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh.... Such a beauty it was. What happened to the door? Panel was ripped, no? I imagine the reaction of the owner... How is such thing even possible. Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
That was my reaction also. I sure hope no one is hurt. But the more I think about it- these are cars and we do actually drive them places. Sometimes valet is unavoidable. Everyone has a strategy for it. Usually I give the valet a big tip and request that I park the car. If there is no way for me to park it, I leave them with a big tip so they will hopefully think kindly on me. But it can go the other way too.
Never! Even my DD, because they'll steal anything not nailed down ........... no wait ................ they will even steal stuff that is nailed down.
I did not yet experience things being stolen. Presumably it is a difference, whether e.g. hotel employees are responsible or whether it is a public parking lot or the like. Valet parking is not very common in Germany and mainly done by hotels. One funny incidence was when we visited a hotel, resting the car just in front of the entrance for getting the luggage out and then handing the keys to the doorman for letting him park the car. After some time he returned (the car still standing there) and asked how reverse is engaged. It was a Quattroporte with Duoselect.
Reminds me of what my dad used to tell me before I used his car: Any accident you have with my car will be fatal; if you survival the accident, I'll kill you...
This story made it into the UK Daily Telegraph today with another photo showing the extent of the damage to the front of the car: Italian parking: £300,000 Ferrari destroyed by attendant - Telegraph. Looks like a total write-off. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unbelievable. Shows again why I NEVER let valets drive any of my cars. Period. He must have been flooring it judging by the pics.
