    Yesterday nice drive again in 2007 612. When I tried to shift up from 4 to 5 at high rpm, car would not shift. Message: gear not available. Car remained stuck in 4 and could not shift up or down. Stopped, switched off the engine, started up again and everything fine. No problems thereafter. I must say, i have had the message before a few times, but the car would then always shift after a while. This was first time it actually got stuck. Anybody had this, or has an idea what it could be? Thanks for your input!

    Sounds like a solenoid sticking in the F1 system.

    You will have to have an SD3 scan tool put on the car to see if there are any trouble codes with the F1.

    Hopefully that will put you on the right track to resolve this issue.
