What color is your car, or what color are you looking for?

 

There have been several threads over the last year or so of owners looking for a 599 or 612 luggage set. Obviously they're pretty rare. While I haven't tried, just curious if these can't be purchased through a dealer? If not, seems like the OEM vender would be more than happy to produce a set if you can find out their name/address. Given their scarcity I would imagine anyone having a set to sell would want at least full retail if not more so why not buy new if it's possible?

Given the rarity and cost, I'm surprised nobody has approached a luggage manufacturer to reproduce a set. No, it wouldn't be the genuine article, but if constructed with quality materials, good craftsmanship, and similar dimensions, it would function just the same.

Might be worth getting a group deal on. Just a thought.

 

Yup, Still available from Ferrari. Just a bit expensive. 5751.99 pounds sterling in black from Maranello Classic Parts. Did not look for the other three colors.

I wrote Schedoni about my 456 and published that here.

They indicated that their relationship with Ferrrari doesn't allow them to reproduce past luggage sets.

You literally have to find the sets that are out there.

To my surprise there are more out there than one imagines, it's just they are all sitting in closets somewhere and there is not motivation to sell or awareness of the outlets to do so I imagine...

 

Moe- Nope. Ask Maranello Classic Parts or Ricambi, but I am pretty much 100% sure it can still be ordered. Lots of differences in what was available for the 456 in the 90s before the Scaglietti options became available and before Ferrari published accessory catalogs for individual models. Lots of profit in those luggage sets and all the accessories. They learned that from Porsche.

I expect you'd order this luggage, pack it up once for a nice trip. Then get annoyed that it is taking up space in your trunk and remove it. Then get annoyed that it is taking up space in your garage/closet. Then get annoyed that you blew $8K on it.

Just saying...

I like a clear trunk with room for practical stuff. Groceries, tools, baseball stuff, golf clubs.

Say, does Ferrari make a nice 612 golf bag?!

 

Jason- They did for the 575M, but it was for the luggage shelf, so not sure it will fit the trunk.

In response to my inquiry directly to Schedoni earlier this month about a 456M luggage set, I'm pasting here the response I received:

Dear Sir,

Greetings from Modena and thanks for your message.
The 456M GT had a different luggage than the 456 GT: I enclose a photo of this 456M GT set which was made by 5 pieces.

The 456M GT Automatic had a set made by 4 pieces instead of 5.

The luggage was matching the car’ interior and so the sets were produced in different colors.

In the years of production of the car, we have made

456M GT 143 sets of luggage
456M GT Automatic 164 sets of luggage

Unfortunately, we are not able to produce a new set (and also the agreement we have with Ferrari SpA does not allow us to produce and sell Ferrari luggage directly to the Clients&#8230: I suggest you to check on Home : Ferrari Market Letter and see if you can find a used set in good conditions.

My point is that I don't think luggage sets are available for past models. I think you need to order them either with the car or while it's current. I want to believe Ricambi's catalog listing is either outdated or perhaps there is remaining inventory of luggage pieces for various models still available, but I find even that hard to believe, as I think these are made to order only.

I'm waiting On the quote still. I'm hoping for under 7k USD for the entire set. Fingers crossed. I was hoping if three or so of us got together we could get closer to 6k

Well, I just essentially paid $5K to $6K for one plenum gasket so I guess $7K for a full set of luggage now doesn't really seem that bad!
