Hi, everybody! Last week ot myself a dark blue 599GTB with a tan interior for a decent price! The car is of the first prod year 2006 but has average milage ( 25.000 kms) and is accident free. Here are some yesterdays photos from a carwash. I have already ordered a new set of fresh Pirelli Tyres cause the car still stands on the old factory rubber. Also planning to have a full maintenance done, including spark plug replacement, as well as all fluids and filters changed. Have a few questions on the car: 1) When I set off from a complete stop I hear a squeking noise that depends on the acceleration. My guess that its a thrust bearing. However the clutch works normally. Should I replace it immediately or I can relax and wait until the clutch is worn out? 2) Should I also replace a flywheel together with the clutch? 3) When I come to the garage and unlock the doors or when I artive to the parking and turn the engine off I hear a loud rattle that continues for approx 30 second - reminds me of a woodpecker living to the right side of the bonnet ))) What is it? Maybe a relay is about to die in there? 4) Recently had another issue - two days ago got stuck in a traffic and the gearbox gave me another surprise. When upshifting from the 3rd to the 4th gear it requently fell into neutral. Then when I was returning without heavy traffic and during yeasterdays cruise the glitch was gone. Is it a known issue? Congrats, I love the color. I have never seen that color before. when you get a chance please post some pictures in sunlight.
No problem, but the nearest week will be rainy in Moscow. Once I have a chance to make a proper photo - I ll post it here) I also love the floor carpet colour - it matches the exterior colour and is dark blue also ) The thing is that this problem troubled me only once when driving in heavy traffic. In other conditions everything works perfect.
Armen- Have somone who knows Ferrari F1 systems look at her with an SD3 or MODIS. Many things can cause her to go into neutral, which is the F1 system's safety outlet to prevent you getting stuck in gear in an intersection and unable to move her. I can think of about a dozen and most of them are inexpensive to fix.
The howl is likely the bell housing bearing that supports the shaft that runs between the clutch and the input to the tranny. These bearings tended to start spinning on their outer races and need to be lock-tighted and staked in when services.
That sounds like dieseling. Make sure you are using the highest octane gasoline you can get. Congrats on the car and I wish you good luck with it.
I've not seen that color before...looking forward to seeing your sunny day pictures. I'm sure you'll get those early ownership bugs worked out with the help of a reputable dealer. The 599 is a wonderful car. Congrats and enjoy.
Yep, I also like the design of the rims - reminds me of the stars of the Kremlin ))) Hello, Terry! I'll try to fix the issue within the dealer, although they prefer changing pads and oil, rather than solving more complicated issues. Thanks for the tip! I will surely let the dealer read this and inspect! No, the gasoline is ok. Althought the manual says about using 95 ocatane, I tried also 98, but think I ll stick to the manual. That kind of rattling is an electrical issue for sure, I think there is smth wrong with the alarm system or relays in the fuse box... Thank you, guys! I love that car!
Pretty car! Don't buy more Pirellis; the Michelins are much better. Lots of threads on the subject on this board.
Thank you! I also wanted to het Michelins, but I couldn't find the proper tyre set in factoy dimensions. Thats why decided to take a set of fresh Pirelli's. Yes, I also have a Murci and Diablo, and a 456M GT. Like em all.
Here is the link to the Fchat thread about my Diablo http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-com-sponsored-cats-exotics/484501-bought-1994-diablo-vt-recently.html
Here are few pictures during the day - but unfortunately made after a small rain - anyway the colour is exactly the same as in person Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
According to the sticker under the hood the colour is "Nuovo Blu Pozzi". Also the source of rattling sound was found - it was due to the failure of the right tgk valve of the heater. Had it replaced and the noise is gone.
Supposedly Enzo Ferrari loved this color for his street cars. Pozzi blue is awesome and looks fantastic on the 599!
