Does anyone know how to remove the carbon fiber center console between the seats? I need to remove to console in order to replace some of the sticky buttons. Can only find 4 screws at the rear section under the coin tray, and 2 screws under the ash tray. Cannot see any screws or access the front section. Thanks in advance for any help you may offer. Like you I only found the same six screws. Looking at the picture in this ebay listing, it appears there's a couple of screws under the F1 control panel Ferrari 599 GTB Carbon Center Tunnel Mittelkonsole - Abdeckung 69143200 | eBay
Thanks for that ebay link showing the front screw locations. Unfortunately I don't know how to get the F1 control panel off to access those 2 front screws.
Once the ash tray is out, you can reach a finger or two up through the ash tray hole and under the F1 panel. There you'll find two tabs, one on the front and one on the back that can be pinched together which will allow the F1 panel to pop out.
After remove ashtray, push the two rear metal spring tabs under the F1 control panel at the corner with thumb, and pry upward with plastic wedge. I stuck my iPhone 6 into the ash tray hole to take picture of underside to see where the tabs are. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Once the F1 control panel is out you can then access the final front two screws holding down the center carbon fiber console. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Remove CF center console from car. Squeeze the 4 steel spring tabs to get the Lock/Unlock and P sensor panel out. Incidentally Ferrari CF quality is really bad. Just look at the messy hand laid back side! Image Unavailable, Please Login
well I'll be. Thanks for that Valeo pic....never thought to look and see they were still in business.
Back ordered dash display mode trim plate finally came in. To remove it you need to insert a thin blade on top of the trim plate where the slot is to depress the spring tab. Hi! I´m also on the way to replace all sticky buttons on my 612. I already ordered most of them from Eurospares (great service by the way), but to put them in place apparently I need to detach some panels. Can somebody tell me how to lift the panels on the picture (without damaging the leather )? Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why does this happen? I had the same problem on my 550 and hope I don't run into this with the 599 I am about to purchase. Is it a foregone conclusion? Is there anyway to slow down the process? Thanks. Frank
Seems to be worse in high humidity regions, but who knows? Only one piece on my 575M (parking brake handle) got the stickies after 12 years or so.
Thanks, Terry. I read somewhere that even the Maranellos in the Ferrari Museum have sticky switches. Just corresponded with a dealer on a 599 and he says they addressed the stickies. Car has been around, so not sure where it spent most of its time geographically.
