Bad Boy 599

Now I'm sure that all of you who follow the UK national press are aware that former F'Chatter and exiled crime lord 'Don Car Leone" is not a happy chappy.
Whlst he is stuck in a gated development in Dubai the UK Gov is auctioning off some cars it siezed from him.
These include a very sexy 599 with delivery miles only.
The car is Nero with an Argento roof, daytonas, leather parcel shelf etc etc.
The Don whilst awaiting the long arm of the law can at least console himself with our acknowledgement of his good taste.

So would you bid on a car that such a fellow considers his?
I would, and possibly will whilst others have said they would not.
Why not ?
Because some have the fanciful notion that said Don may evade justice and claim his car back by coercion (of the legal or physical type) or get his pals to torch or steal it out of spite.
Others wonder if DC fled the UK owing money to people higher up the criminal chain who may seek to get thier hands on a sexy 599 in redress for monies owed.

What do you think about that ?
What do you think about the investment potential of a no miles 599?
Will the history add or subtract value ?

The chap from Bonhams called me on this today.

The car was seized from a Swiss property, which was also seized.
It had never been driven by the guy who paid for it, it was never registered in Switzerland
Its has been stored ever since by a professional storage company and run up to temperature on a regular basis.
It has 1 key and no documents.
The swiss dealer has confirmed they sold it.
VAT of 20% is payable on purchase.

Just as a tip this car could end up being very expensive despite low hammer price estimates.
You pay 15% buyers premium on the 1st 50 K GBP of the hammer price, 12% on the rest.
You pay 20 % VAT on that premium.
You pay 20% VAT on the hammer price.
