Can anyone advise on whether it is possible to convert a 599 to four seats, and if so, who in Europe can do this?

Anything is possible. Just as the Sultan of Brunei or a member here named Napoli. ;)

I should think that for the cost involved you could buy a whole fleet or nice 2+2s. 612 OTO, FF, 911 Turbo, Aston, Bentley CGT, and on and on and still be in the black relative to a conversion on a 599.

    YMMV

I have seen the 456 shooting break in Kensington, ugly as hell ... why ruining such a great car as a 599. Buy an audi instead ...

Do FFs and 612s (setting aside cost) even address the same market? Other than having back seats.

I just don't see people who love the 612--a gentleman's saloon, liking the brash and um, interestingly styled FF. In general, of course.

RE Audi: In my opinion The Audi A7/S7/RS7 is the best looking practical car out there.

I'm surprised anyone would ask such a question- The factory answered it and called it 612

And as a 612 owner, I'd say the FF does not appeal to my market segment

I thought to buy one and cut and reshape the roof, but then decided against it- The later 612's are so nice.

The FF answers a question nobody ever asked- If a Ferrari owner wanted to place 4 six foot adults in his car, he'd take his other car...

i have an OTO and driven a FF hard and long, and im so surprised what a great big 458 it really is.
Its not an FF, its an 458 that have ample room for 4 and bags. Its a great car to drive and miles better than my 612 and easier and more convenient to drive, most importantly, it is so much faster and handles much better just like a 458!

however, when im done driving, and shut the door, i cant look back, and u have to blindfold me and give me a walking stick walking up to it. But used prices are so good, or will be so cheap i'll gladly trade my 612 up for one in the future. And i'll sticker wrap some lines to make it look like a ferrari.

You would have to have the car be homologatted as a 4 seater which would be very expensive (probably include crash testing). It s not just adding seats. If the car is a 2 seater as homologatted, then insurance will not cover the extra 2 seats and it would be illegal to have passengers in them.

To do it to the level of a top one off like P 4/5 or Kappa which our team were involved in would be about 2.5mm euros.

If you're interested let us know.

Seeing Napolis' quote, you were right on the money...well, maybe we could add a few more cars to the list, say a Phantom drop head, another Aston, maybe another convertible 911 turbo, etc.... ;)

    612 is the logical choice.

There are performance improvements available, if you want more out of it. But, it already comes pretty fierce.

Not a fan of the FF; but, I give Ferrari a pass for trying something different and the performance is very good.

    :D

Somewhere between 612 and 599 is just too much. Not that this is a bad thing, but 612 is PLENTY powerful enough.

I saw an FF listed wholesale in the $180k's recently, high miles. Definitely not a well received model. But hell, if they start selling in the $150k range for 2012's in another year, might just have to try me on one for fun for a while.

But for a 2+2 vert, get a Cali. Much maligned, can we collectively get over it? I like the styling, but I know I'm in the minority. Looking forward to one of those as well. Sucks having a budget. I'd be better off not being able to dabble in Ferrari's at all. I want to try one of each.

    Well, all taste is personal.

I'll take the original (and, in fact, as long as my PPI goes well it should be arriving in the next couple weeks!)

Probably it would be cheaper to put some 599 clues in a 612.

Seems that converting an existing 612 to a 599 would make more sense!

Wonder if you could marry a Tipo F140 to an OTO. Maybe add some questionably tasteful aero kit or something. I'm sure Napolis could do something amazing with $2M, probably give you back your 599 complete with a new VIN from Maranello, but why? I'll bet there's a way to wedge an F140 in a 612 and badass it up a bit. Grabbed this off the net, someone made it. Doesn't look too too bad.

Or you could just get the cool body kit and skip the unnecessary performance upgrade.
