Yup, just like 3 pedal 575Ms going for over $300K and there were 246 of those. A lot fewer 3 pedal 599s.
That's part of what makes it so cool IMO. It wasn't necessarily a "limited production" thing, yet manages to be extraordinarily rare. Not everything that's desirable in the eyes of collectors was a hot item when it was new.
As you can imagine the guys at JN are pretty well connected. You'd think if that was the best way to unload it that they would be going that way.
This seems out of line... an almost 300% premium for a standard? What would it cost to retrofit a manual from an F1? Maybe $60k? Or if you wanted to be ridiculous, you ship the car to Italy and have it done there... From what I understand, it is not a major hack up of the transmission. All in $80-$100k(?). Sure, it's not original spec to the car, but how much would that matter for resale? Even at a significant discount from an original, it still would likely be a highly profitable venture. Shoot...I need to corner the market on manual 599's...
Data point. I just spent some time with the sales manager at JN who said they sold this car in OP for 600K
