Just got secondary-bypass pipes from Fabspeed . . they are beautiful. I keep hearing from 599 guys that bypassing the secondary cats will get you the sound you like. They also claim that they get 30-40 more HP . . hmm . . I guess it's possible. There is no problem passing smog with these.
I think I could make these (mild steel ) for a coupla hundred dollars a pair.
I will put them on tomorrow & see(hear) how they are..

How about making a set for the 612 too while you are at it! I would buy them!

The car will run a tad cooler too.

Very noticeable in my car after the cats deleted.

Yes, the heat is actually my main motive for installing these pipes.

Does the center console no longer get hot?

I suggest to just do the bypass - anything more and it is just too loud.

I personally do not like it that loud.

I'm not particularly inclined to make it any louder, but reducing heat is compelling if the additional sound is marginal.

No change in heat on my car. These cars need airflow to cool down.

I will have the entire exhaust wrapped - lets see if that helps.

Chances are you'll get the welds hot enough to start breaking apart and leaking.

The oem exhaust has been tested for more miles than all of us will ever accumulate...combined. Unless you're swapping parts for sound/performance, you won't be doing your car any favors.

Thanks- already have Tubi, was inquiring about the bypass in addition.

Good data point. I'll agree, notable temp changes on the 599 when stopped versus 80mph. Nowhere need the fluctuation I've observed on the 550 though. Clearly made some progress there.
