I have been looking for the threads on the test pipes for the 599, and they seem to have disappeared...?

Why? There's another thread below flogging 599 secondary cat bypass pipes?

This is really sad because Fabio is one OF us, not just a sponsor who were trying to sell. Fabio was not yet a sponsor, because he has a normal job and his exhaust works was just a very expencive hobby. I am one of very few who actually know Fabio a littlebit after I decided to drive to him and visit him the summer of 2015 with my 550. It was a very good experience as I was first greeted by his old mother as I came a little too early (Garmin forgot I drove a V12 Ferrari!), and the workshop of Fabio's father (which passed away a few years back) is still at the properly of their family. It was easy to tell by the workshop that this was a place representing good old Italian craftmanship from more than a half century back in time where Italian cars were made from love and the development from their own. This is also perhaps why I want to support Fabio's work 100 % because first of all, he is a 100% trustworthy and very good guy and the fact that this is very genuine Italian from the beautiful countryside of the Ravenna district. I had the priviledge of having a test in Fabio's (like new condition) Rosso Corsa 575 HGTC with his 6-1 headers (much like the 599 GTO / FF / F12 has ). The sound picture of this 575 was so much smoother and better than all the 456/550/575 cars I have driven, that my thought came down to: "why havn't all exhaust manufacturers done this themselves"?? Well the answer might be that they probably don't understand the fact that the sound in the exhaust can only manipulate the sound already coming from the engine, and that is the engine itself + the headers, which in this case has a completely different collector, as now six pipes of perfectly even lengths meet, rather than the six fwd cylinders have a much longer way before they blend with the other six aft cylinders (599 and older V12s have four small 3-1 headers. This is what make Fabio so unique. Hi listened to many Ferraris and found out that there were a difference and made his own system with his own computer in his family's old workshop and it works amazingly well. All parts are CNC precition cut. I am used to boat racing exhausts from the push rod V8s which is used in racing boats as I myself have been working with these boats daily the last twelve years, and all I can say is that Fabio's precition is far superior than that and most aftermarket exhaust I have got the last seven years of Ferrari ownership.

I got a frustrated SMS from Fabio here the other day, and he said he was banned from Fchat and that to be a sponsor, it would cost many thousands of dollars. To me, this is really an assault to a private person who has done something unique to this community, and I hope the moderator will look at this message, and re-evaluate his decition. I know there are other exhaust makers who are sponsors Fchat, but it must be possible in a free market world to come to a compromize. Or at least give Fabio a very good sponsor entrance ticket during his extremely low volume manufacturing of possibly the best exhaust out there. He is just a guy too good to be wiped out. There is other values in this world than just money. He did not get a waring...

Thank you for your thoughts, replies and to the thread starter who brings this case to the surface. I enjoy Fchat alot and am myself a guy who want to share my experiences and make other Ferrari enthusiasts happy.

Fabio is gentlemanly, full of knowledge, interesting, interested and passionate. He was helpful to me on a number of issues completely unrelated to his business. A true Ferrari fan and an "amateur" in the original sense of the word - someone who does his business out of love. His presence is missed.
However, rules are rules. Can the moderators let him back in if he promises not to sell? Fchat is a business and I get why there need to be rules.

I just posted this on the 599/612 board. Thanks for the heads up, Erik.

What?? Why did this happen?? He was a valuable contributor to this forum...

EDIT: I just contacted Fabio and he told me that he has been banned "for life", he has tried to contacted to contact the moderator.

Could the moderator please re-consider this - it is truly a shame, as already mentioned, Fabio's unique craftsmanship and knowledge is of particular value, he shared lots of valuable information with the forum.

    Very sad to hear this.

I doubt I will ever meet Fabio but based on the few messages we exchanged, I just don't see why the forum moderators would ban such a loyal and passionate contributer. A true master in traditional Italian craftsmanship and producer of the very best exhaust systems I have ever seen. I can't describe how much I and we as a forum will miss him.

    That's just ridiculous.

My guess is it has something to do with his products openly being discussed as being of superior build quality than Fabspeed (a sponsor here).

I hope this gets reversed as his threads were a joy to follow. He's not some big box shop...just a very talented guy sharing his knowledge with this community. I understand he was intending on selling these items once he perfected/completed them though...I just hope he was given a warning or at least asked to become a sponsor before giving him the boot.

His threads and products were some of the best on this forum. It would be a massive waste to ban him permanently.

I would suspect sponsors that were selling similar products at twice the price had something to do with this.

While I understand that the forum needs to generate revenue, one must not forget that it is knowledge, experience sharing and exchange of information that draws us to this forum to begin with - and this is exactly what Fabio has contributed.

After all, these contributions have drawn more interest and "traffic" to this forum, that also constitute a benefit to its paying sponsors - without our active participation no sponsor would care to place any ad.

While I understand both sides of the issue, I hope the moderators see beyond what I consider an overly excessive reaction and allow some leeway.

These sponsors are in a completely different league and I am sure they can cope with a bit a competition.

If this is due to Fabspeed arm twisting, it wouldn't be the first time they managed to have something buried. I had a nasty dispute with them, my account 100% backed up by the evidence and Rob simply locked it and moved it to Silver where it could sink to the bottom unsearchable from the internet, like a body dumped in the hudson with a a few bricks tied to the feet. They should know by now that covering **** up rather than directly competing in a fair marketplace results in people talking MORE about the connection between Fabspeed and JIM in Taiwan. I don't know why they're worried. As they said in their own cat bypass thread, they have plenty of customers lining up with exotics willing to "take on any possible repercussions" from using Fabspeed products, straight from horse's mouth.

The moderators (or at least some) are very rigid as soon as something smells like "business".

In the German thread I pointed to local trackdays (wherein I have no relation other than occassionally participating and paying my fees for that). I was accused of promoting/doing business, because these trackdays are not for free (someone ever seen such thing?) and additionally (very unclear, by the way) "rules" were referred to in view of that I am not subscribed (the reason for this is another story and mainly due to my reluctance to use Paypal, I wanted to and a moderator had been provided with my full credit card infos).

After the moderator in charge for that section called me a liar in a private message, I immediately and without response thereto withdrew from the German section completely (it is more or less "dead" anyway), simply to avoid any further confrontation.

On the other hand, I am somewhat surprised to be allowed to give information about resources (with which I have no relation other than buying experience) in other sections, although such resources rarely provide parts for free .... :D

    Cheers, Bernhard

Nothing to stop anyone from starting a new thread about Fabio and his bypass pipes though for the good of the community.

there is a bunch of bull **** in this thread. no other sponsor reported him, but should have just like other users should have reported him too. if there would have been reports earlier, then some smoother and easier things could have been done.

he was welcome to post his products in classifieds which might only cost $15 or $50 a year, not thousands!

sponsors pay thousands to have the right to post commercially in the forums. we also let "hobbyists" benefit the community, but once there is a commercial intention with commercial (significant profit) pricing, then be fair or hit the road. we're not running a socialist economy on here. what is more fair than $15 a year keeping the commercial selling in classifieds while still able to participate in the community noncommercial?

tell me in my face you think that is wrong.

Then why not allow him to do good and place an ad in the classified section? Banning him for life is not the best solution.

I offered that to him and he basically declined. He felt entitled to full sponsor benefits for nothing, I guess that's a European thing. Usually it takes a couple weeks for dust up to settle and then there is a "settle".
