Saturday evening, about 15 Km from my home.
Alcohol and 620 Hp - a very bad mixture.

The good thing, no one died !

I visited the guy (auto trader) last fall, it was a black 599 with red interior and HGTE upgrade.

Unfall: Zwei Schwerverletzte, zwei Mal Totalschaden

Daniel- They identified him as a drunk driver straight up. Good for them.

Nice Ferrari destroyed by a selfish and inconsiderate driver.

Very fortunate there were no fatalities.

Sadly, there will probably be nothing more than a slap on the wrist in terms of punishment.

No airbag release but the back demolished, it must have slammed rearwards into a wall or tree at massive speed. The driver is very lucky, and obviously a complete dickhead.

In addition, it seems that there were wet conditions. Very easy to crash a 599 under such conditions, if unexperienced, insensitive right foot and inappropriate manettino setting. Even if not drunk.

Agreed, this can happen in the most sober conditions - if the manettino is set in Race or Sport it can even happen in dry conditions if you are not careful with the right foot.

I usually keep mine in "Rain/Green" - I had a few incidences where I was startled by the wheel spin, happens so much easier than one expects.

I have found, as a new 599 owner, that it is very easy to over-drive the car. Glad to see others make their manettino setting less aggressive. Thought I was being a wimp! BTW, it looks like the driver's side airbag did deploy. Frank

Looks like only the back end was wrecked.

Good news for someone that needs parts.
