    I hit a pothole at high speed, not just bending the rim, but creating a 3 inch crack close to where the rim bent. While I've bought a used rim today, I wonder if there are any vendors out there who could repair the crack safely and fix the rim. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Frank

    IMHO don't bother. As far as I know the only way to really know you've fixed the crack is to have the wheel x-rayed and I think the cost of this is far in excess of simply buying a new wheel. Think of it this way- in an impact with a pothole, first the tire gives, then the wheel, then the suspension, then the frame. Be glad it wasn't the suspension/frame!

    I would not trust a repaired wheel at high speeds.
    Hope your new (used) wheel hasn't been repaired either.

    I have had a couple of bent rims repaired perfectly at Universal without any problem. I would trust their judgement with a cracked one. If they say toss it then you know what to do.
