Quick poll for every current or former 599 owner. Have you ever worn out your 599's clutch?
Just a little bump to keep the poll going. If you've replaced your clutch, love to know at what mileage and how the car was driven that may have contributed, regular traffic, track, etc. Thanks.
Bob -- would like to participate, but have only had the car for about 3000 miles (out of 23,000), so thankfully no clutch issues! And I don't know if it's ever been replaced.
Replaced at 15K by dealer as part of purchase agreement. Don't know much about car's prior driving history.
599 Hgte (2009) 36 000 km and 28% life used on clutch )))))) Just pull the padles (both) when possible
I guess I am reviving this thread for a few months back. I am in the process of purchasing a 2010 HGTE with 15,200 miles. Clutch measurement showed 36.13% used. Is that high and shall I worry? I spoke with a local shop and they said after 50% use it REALLY goes downhill
Mine has 65% wear and its driving perfectly on track, went to local dealer and they said no need to change. i track my car with no issues in shifting. 599 clutch is more durable than F430 it takes more beating and it last longer. from an expirance
Just had my 2010 HGTE serviced. 22,000 miles, 68% clutch remaining. Also (knock on wood) car is running better than ever, I think these cars need to be driven, they get better with age.
When do you need to look at replacing he clutch ? My dealer said when it's about 25%worn/75% left I should start looking at replacing Does that sound similar to what everyone else here has been told ?
Yeah I'm thinking I probably misunderstood .... spoke to service manager earlier and he said 50%... What percentage are others replacing at ? I've heard of some going to 100% work and still apparently running fine Car has 13,000kms on it and wear is at 19%
11,500 miles. Software says 35% worn, 65% left. Never replaced. My understanding from my mechanic is the software doesn't actually tap into anything that physically measures the clutch. Instead the software just makes a guestimate based on how the car has been driven up to that point. I think this is why some cars could show 100% clutch wear per the software, but they still drive fine. Of course you could be on the negative end of this too if software only shows 85% wear and the clutch craps out.
Ironically, when I bought the car a few months ago, the PPI showed that clutch was 50% worn. I found that odd since the car only had about 11,000 miles. A few months and a few hundred miles later I have my local mechanic hook it up and it only shows 35% worn. I'll take it!
Your dealer can easily check actual wear with a borescope. There is also some adjustment available, so no need to suffer from clutch anxiety.
Hi 2007 with 10k miles 2% worn as of last service report 3 weeks ago . Is it possible ?! 2% only for 10k ? Never used LC Thanks
