So happy with the car, my first Ferrari
11/2004 argento nurburgring on 20 challenge ball polished, black interior, 9000 miles
The car is amazing, I am a porsche guy (997 4s and 964 c2) although I like the german precision, the craftsmanship of the Italian is a piece of art, you really feel that car is handmade, I like it, the coach work by pininfarina is so balanced and elegant
Engine is so smooth yet ready to play in an agressive way should you want it
I was driving home back from the dealer and could not stop smiling, great feeling

The car is making a "ticking noise" coming from the rear whenever I accelerate from low speed or decelerate at low speed, really subtle, nothing problematic, I only hear this if I open the windows. is that a 612 suspension feature? or the tie rods needing replacement?

    Congrats.

Having the traditional V12 Front-Engine Ferrari is what the Enzo experience is all about.

    Enjoy.

Argento is a perfect color for the 612. Congratulations, she is very pretty.

Congrats!! The 612 engine is very much like the 550/575 in design And aethetics, but it is painted differently, and it is undoubtly the most beautiful of them. You have one hell of a car there. Our local Head of Sales at our country's only Ferrari dealership, always took the 612s to trackdays and said several times that it did 330 kph with them on the way home... Slightly illegal, but ubdoubtly an experience for life!

Congrats to the beautiful 612 and welcome to the Ferrari V12 club!
...Did you check your tyres? Probably the ticking noise is just a piece of stone stucked in your tyre.

No, no stone in the tyres.

    I know what he means.
Its a ticking noise, i mean i comes from the driveshafts (to the wheels) and i think (hope) it's normal.
I mean it's a noise coming from a rotating part.
I have this noise too, and i heard it at another 599 i drove before i bought mine.
The noise is like a tickticktick or knackknackknack only when acelerate or decelerate smoove at about 20 Km/h

I know this noise from race cars, driving slow inside the box area.

Have you checked to see if all fluids have been topped off? Mine made a similar noise when the power steering fluid was low.

Steering fluid is at Max, If I would have to guess this would be a typical cardan noise, but after 9000 miles that sound like a stretch, also it happens on both side with equal intensity

Maybe one of the center caps on one of the wheels is loose and moves slightly when accelerating or decelerating.

Center cap? That's decorative plastic, or not?
I checked the tie rod they are fine, at least no play in it
I will need to take the wheel out and see if I find something else

Check for a pebble in your brakes, I've had it happen before. You can only hear it when you are driving slow.

Thanks to all for your warm welcome
I did push the car in sport mode, I find it fantastic, the v12 roars like a tiger above 5000revs, the car has really 2 personalities, I also start to understand how to use the F1 gearbox efficiently ( I read the manual:) )
I was convinced about it already, but this car is an absolute bargain today given what you get for the money

Congratulations. I too have an Argento Nurburgring that I got back end of Summer last year. Its a beast and I absolutely love it. For a big old girl she certainly flies. I adore the presence of the car and its the way everyone seems to love it. Its more of a GT than a sportscar and is therefore less 'flashy' which I prefer.

Use it. A lot. Enjoy it

Great looking car. They certainly have character and I think take a little while to get to know properly. The orchestral noise is an immediate fix though.

Stan- Nope, the early 612 engine is a type F133F and the 575M is a type F133E (550 Type F133A, Superamerica Type F133G). Both are 5748 cc V12s and share many parts, including belt cam drives. The Enzo, 599 and later V12s are in the Type F140 family with variable valve timing, chains instead of belts, and other updates.

The later 612s using Motronic 7.3.2 instead of the 7.1.1 of the 575M and early 612 (and early 599) have Type F133H engines.
