Ricardo- 25 hp more, bigger brakes, quicker shifting F1 system, not much heavier with aluminum chassis. So yes, possible, especially since that time was likely an HGTC model with CCMs.
The only thing to note here is the advancement of modern tires. An F40 with similar spec tires will eat the 612. The weight difference between them is half a ton.
