Hi all, I am finally part of the 599 family. I just bought a nice example but one big drawback is I leave my fingerprints everywhere on the car as it's so sticky. I live in Asia and it's hot and humid. I am planning in sending my parts to be refinished in the US. Anyhow, can someone give me some advice in how to remove the hvac panel, the dome light assembly and the luggage stripes at the back for example. Any other how to guides would be appreciated as I have to remove a lot of plastic parts and the car is so nice, I don't want to break it by doing mistakes.
Have you tried your local shop or dealer? They should be experienced to take care of that kinda work and no risk in breaking anything. When your ready for the refinishing, please email or give me a call, we would love to care care of those issues for you. Robbie
Hi Niccolo, We are looking forward to your parts. We have a dealer getting ready to do a 599 soon - I will see if I can get some removal information for you.
Hello Mark, We will be sure to share any removal information as we acquire it. Please be sure to review this thread (and others) to see examples of our services. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/612-599/520895-anyone-sticky-599-a.html Thank you
Had the same issue. Used denatured alcohol on a clean cloth and gentle pressure with excellent results. Sticky gone with no damage to graphics.
Got mine at Home Depot. Probably available at Lowes or any hardware store. Nothing special. I believe that it is just ethyl alcohol made undrinkable with the addition of methyl alcohol.
MA Carbon (no affiliation to me), a sponsor here on FChat, makes a manettino graphic replacement. They also have install instructions on their site. I've been working with Dave at StickyRX over the past few weeks to refinish some interior parts on a recently acquired Ferrari 599. Mirror triangles, steering wheel column surround (top and bottom), steering wheel tilt control and four vent rings. Received refinished parts this weekend and very pleased to report they look as good as (or better than) new. I have reinstalled and am thrilled with the outcome. Dave was a pleasure to deal with. First class communication throughout the whole process and a final product that exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Dave and StickyRX to any owner dealing with sticky interior issues. Thanks again for all of your help, Dave!
Thank you very much for your business, Will. I'm glad we were able to exceed your expectations We appreciate your support. Thank you.
