I like seeing the process. So, why do some cars seem to have the sticky problem so much worse than others? Is it exposure to sun?
With the interior plastics that degraded how does the leather on the dash look? Started pulling away from the windshield, vents, etc?
It really does not seem to be linear.... Car exposed to hot climates seem to be effected the most, however, I can tell you we get plenty of cars from cooler climates and some are fairly new.
Did you pull the dash to get the defrost vents out? Also, it appears your window toggles need repair. Look back to trygve11's epic posting on his 612 rebuild for the best details on how to accomplish that for free and with a permanent fix.
The dash leather was already redone 3 years ago. This car spends winters in Miami so I think it's exposed to high heat and humidity.

Very nice work- Thanks for posting! Just a side comment- Even if the car was updated and cared for, that ignition key would be enough to chase me away on a resale. The owner obviously has enough self respect to want to surround himself with a well maintained car, see if you can talk him into a new key! The later ones were also red which might do him justice as well if the fit is same...
Not sure honestly. The car came with no service records prior to his ownership so it's unknown if anyone was in there before.
