Even if you have to put some $ into redoing sticky interior and dash leather it sounds like a good deal to me, but perhaps black isn't the most popular... - perhaps just not many interested buyers at the event. Was it a "No Reserve"?

Just noted the addendum at the bottom of your link above - I am sure that statement discouraged buyers given that auction was in CA...

At the point now where Maranellos and 599s overlap in price.

    My brain says a F599.

    My heart says a F550.

If it is a USA-legal car and it has 7500 miles on it,it can be registered in California.

Is it something about this auction in particular, or are prices this soft?

Seems only a few cars went over estimate, like the V16 Cadillac. Just saw a lowly 68 MG sell for 6K. Seems like an odd place to sell muscle or custom cars. Very nice looking 575, seems it was around 140?

I had been confused about this, but recently learned the answer. My 2009 had similarly damaged labels. The labels have a clear plastic film over them that dries up, shrinks and peels back taking some of the ink along ruining the labels. I always thought the clear film was a delivery protection intended to be removed when the car was new, but when I received replacement labels from Ferrari, they included separate clear films intended to be applied over the labels apparently to protect them. Unfortunately as the film ages, it ultimately fails and destroys the label.

Yeah, that VIN sticker looks pretty normal - on par with the quality of the soft-touch coating and the dash leather :)

    Too funny, Jes :)

Both those decals on both of my 355's are pristine ;)

Earlier Ferraris had silk screened metal data plates with the serial number engraved.

For 355, yes but they still have the VIN barcode label

I agree with ar4me, I had this issue on my 2009 16m and my 2007 599. My only advice don't mess with it, it just gets worse. As far as the blk , blk 599. I think it looks great with those wheels. But I really thought the 575 blue / red car was stunning example.

There was a car very similar to this one that was owned by someone on this forum for a short period. His might have been an HGTE...or perhaps a lookalike with the wheels like this one?

This might even be the exact same car. He was trying to sell it for in the $130k range.

The car was nice. It needed a few minor things addressed but a great value nonetheless.

Nin - the car you mention was Sean's and his was a dealer installed HGTE package.

I am fairly certain the pozzi/red 575 at RM is the same one that sold for $150k at Mecum Houston a couple months ago. Looks like someone tried to flip it without much success.
