Ugh. I just found out that the pot hole damage was worse than it initially appeared. Just now I was quoted $3622 to replace it! Any suggestions or words from the wise? I'm searching the net right now to see if I could do better... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Try Exoticar and Chris and see if he can get you one. So many different types of wheels, but paying dealer full price is not probably necessary. EuroSpares also breaks Ferraris and sometimes has individual wheels. Same for Exotic Car Recycling in Rancho Cordova, CA.
I ordered a whole set from Chris @ Exotic car, the drivers front was slightly bent too so it just made sense. So I'll have 2 rears that I could sell or put them on - they are 20x11 as opposed to my 20x10's, I wonder if I should.
Al- Dozens of 612 owners with 599 Challenge wheels on the rear. They work great with OEM size tires or larger sizes up to the GTO rears.
I'm in the middle of this now, and I mounted Michelin Pilot sport 315-35-20 on 599 rim in the rear, and at full droop it rubbed the inner wheel well. I couldn't pass my fingers past when it was at rest on the ground, and that just looked like trouble. I will post as soon as I get the 305-35-20 mounted. I'm under the impression that will work.
My 599 had damage identical to yours and was replaced under my car's insurance policy, minus the deductible of course. (BTW, hit a pot hole in Westchester County!)
I called my insurer and reported the claim, but I'm not sure I'm going to request action. I have time to think about it, I'm not sure I want to have the mark in my file for what really would be a net of a grand or so not including a potential increase.
Your insurance company should not charge you any extra premium for that type of loss. Ask your broker point blank if the company will make an additional premium charge if you present the claim. It is by most insurance company guidelines as non chargible collision with the road bed. I am assuming that you have not had other claims in the past three years which would affect their opinion of your general insurance account.
I'll probably list the 2 20x11"s I'll have left since I'm not going use them. No scraping of your rears? , what tire size do you have on them?
I used 5 Mil Spacers because they were going to rub. I was only running a 295 40 20 or 295 35 20 K1 MSS.
