New guy to the Forum but glad to see an "American Muscle" section. Here's my Goat, my first car, owned since 1986. Signet Gold, 400 H.O., auto with Hurst Dual Gate (His/Her) shifter and air conditioning. Maybe one day I'll post pics of my yet to be bought 308. I'm starting that "process" and look forward to the journey.

Hey Thomas Magnum love the name and the GTO, the 1st muscle car. When you get the 308 maybe you can do a Car and Driver like report: Pontiac GTO vs Ferrari 308.

Wow, a 1967 GTO was my first car too, but I owned it in 1973!

    Nice looking Goat and 308!

If you can dream it, you can do it, nice job!

Thank you. I'm very proud and blessed to have the two cars I always wanted. Sure, there are more desirable/collectible cars but the GTO and 308 have always stood out to me. Neither are trailer queens and I absolutely love driving them. I doubt me and my cars will ever be the star of a Petrolicious film but I certainly understand and share the passion and enthusiasm so beautifully portrayed in those videos. I guess we all have similar stories...

I am saving for a Go Pro camera though! :)

    Great cars!

I also have a 1967 GTO and a 1988 328. Two iconic automobiles. I've had my GTO for 8-1/2 years, and the 328 for 7 years next month.

To me there are very few other cars that are as desirable.

I'll be doing a photo shoot of my cars sometime in the next few weeks, I'll post the pictures when they are done.

Beautiful '67 GTO. I purchased a used '67 GTO for $1,700 in 1971 when I was in college. It was gold like yours, but had a black vinyl roof (very popular in those days), a Hurst 4-speed manual (super-smooth linkage) and no A/C. The only anti-pollution device on the car was a PCV valve. I did some light work on the car, including headers. I loved it, but it was stolen in NYC while I was in law school (around 1976). I still think it is one of the best looking cars ever to emerge from Detroit.

    Enjoy yours.

Gorgeous! Love 'em both. I would love a '67....my favorite year for the GTO.

Oh that's a nice GTO. I had a 67 GTO back in the mid 80's. Rally 1's, 400 4 speed, wood wheel, and it was an HO car. I paid $300 for it at a wrecker impound lot. It was beat pretty bad & rusted. I took the engine/trans & put it in a 67 Firebird. Long gone now of course. I do have a 64 GTO project. They are fun cars.

    Hi,

I don't want to get off subject, just was wondering, are the wheels on your convertible Hursts ? They don't seem to be Cragars. They look fantastic. Did they come with the car or did you get them elsewhere ? I searched but I cannot find any reproductions, are reproductions available ? Any ideas ?

    Regards,

    Ramin

Beautiful car, and one of Pontiac's better designs (how could the company that gave us this gorgeous GTO later give us the ugly Aztec?).

If it were my car, though, I'd remove the plastic door-edge guards.

  20. They are real original Hurst wheels. Not original to the car, but still a period correct item. I picked up one set locally, but you can find them on ebay. I think they quit making the reproduction wheels some time ago. Parts Place sold them. The TransAm /Firebird Nationals event is next week in Dayton Ohio. Some could be there.

Looks like you have a couple of nice projects. Love the Goat convertible but that Land Rover is cool too!

  22. Thanks. I have since sold the Land Rover. That was a neat, but painfully slow vehicle. Still, I wouldn't mind another one or an FJ40.

Recently put some old school Cragars on it. Don't worry purists, I still have the original Rally IIs but wanted a change of pace. Cragars were on it when I bought the car in 1986.
