Why compare to the Ford GT, a car that is now going on 8 years old ?

Last Ford GT was built in 2006, that's 7 years ago & at least 1 gen ago in car tech.

I'd take a GT over ANY Camaro any day

Camaro with a front mounted engine and a SOLID axle vs a Ford GT mid engined trans axled set-up, the Ford GT would LAP that antiqued Camaro...Alex

you completely miss my point. The Ford GT would also lap a 250GTO. Which would you rather own?

The car pictured is the Penske-campaigned 1968 Camaro driven by Mark Donahue to 10 wins in the 13-race Trans Am series that year. I'd take that car over ANY Ford GT.

And I figured WilliamH would appreciate this since he is in the throes of restoring a vintage race car

I just traded in my 2005 Ford Gt that I bought new. I had it for 8 years and it was very good to me. Someone will get a good car.

I bought a new Lamboginni Aventador. This thing is amazing. It handles very well and has 700hp!
I love the new car. I also miss the Ford GT. I hope the new owner treats her well. I never ran her hard but enjoyed the car emensly.

    Best

Interesting news on the trade in. Might consider trading my FGT for CGT but it would have to be for very compelling reasons. And, on second thought, pretty sure the FGT will remain in my collection. Should you consider selling or trading in your CGT, would be thrilled if it could be added to my collection.

    Enjoy your new supercar!

    Best,

    DJ

The ZL1 is the one getting lost in the mix here. Move up to the Z/28 or shift down and buy the 1LE. Where does the ZL1 fit?

Or, maybe just buy the V6 FX and put a twin turbo on it.

Yeah that's a cool Camaro. There are cool Camaros but I'd still take a Ford GT or a GT40 ever the Penske Camaro :)

I noticed you added the GT40, which I'd prefer to the Ford GT and would likewise prefer to the Penske Camaro, esp with provenance like Le Mans History.
