Finally, bought a friend's 2012 truck in black. Starting mods immediately. first comes lights, bumpers, winch then more goodies
Congrats! Love the Raptor. Cheap thrills as compared to exotics. You could mod the heck out of it and still not come to a fraction of what is spent on sportscars. And cult like following.
4 door, don't know which cab Gonna take her out into the Everglades w my Excursion after I get the winch on the Raptor
I'd try not to add too much weight to the front. They are pretty sensitive. But you can find a lot of options for them.
sensitive in what way? I see these yokels out here with lifted F350s with the giant diamond plate front bumper with 10 million candlepower worth of KC lights and a winch that could pull your house off its foundation and wonder what that's doing to handling, not to mention shocks/springs/bearings/halfshafts/etc.
Raptors are race bred so not your avg pick up They have race tuned suspensions w aluminum bits & racing shocks so they r bound to b more sensitive than a regular truck
Chas, expanding on what William said, they use a softer suspension than the normal F150. So if you hang the typical 200lb+ winch bumper and a 50lb winch it will adversely affect the handling and the ride. As for the Super Duties, they have a stiffer suspension, and lifted is usually even more so. So there isn't as much affect from the weight. And most of them ride horribly anyway. Awesome combo, Storybook. I'm sure that truck is a blast up there.
Different shocks, a arms, and some body work. Overrated trucks if you ask me. Most of the general public assumes that they are capable of doing this, when they should really be limited to fire roads, and pavement. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The later models can do that after they made the frame a bit stronger. A stock Raptor won the Paris Dakar in its class
The most important difference to me is the programming. Using the off road mode allows you to completely turn off traction control, and run the rear locker at any speed. And it's still better than buying an FX4 and putting a lift kit on it. But I agree it's a little over hyped, and most are under utilized. But so are most Jeep Rubicons.
Great trucks. I sure love mine. Best vehicle I've ever owned. My wife thinks I'm crazy because I just bought my truck another set of Methods for some General Grabbers to try out. Next up is an Alpha 1 rear frame reinforcement w/ bump stops. Image Unavailable, Please Login
HAHAHA! Sorry sir, there is no coverage on your vehicle. It specifically states in your policy, "No jumping your vehicle on purpose".
Fun to drive??? 0-60: 6.7 sec. Breaking 70-0: 202 ft. Skidpad: .70g What am I missing? This does not sound too exciting to me...
