Yes I did and it's a long story 😃
Wasn't my choice to give it that name,the paint guys 'had' me with all the whining I was doing.
This was their payback.......

 

So carmakers are going to start using Armenian surnames to identify colors? LOL

 

If Armenian guys design the cars.

I still wish Cadillac would abandon the folded metal look, go with more curves, and make a more contemporary grill.

I give Mercedes a lot of credit in taking their 50's and 60's grills and making them work in all sorts of different vehicles -- yet still look Mercedes.

I give less credit to BMW who seem to have lost all sense of special-ness in their designs and created a line of cars that are incredibly BLAND.

The Cadillac Exterior Studio was my last assignment.
CTS,V's, 2 Presidential Limos 😢, and other assorted assignments
No they won't be using Armenian surnames to identify colors. That was a one time aberration.

 

Well, that would be a good thing!

 

I like the distinctive look of the Cadillac.
While MB has successfully updated the front ends, those miserable LED cat eye rear ends on some models must have been cribbed from an Asian design studio. And the new S-class is incredibly bulbous when viewed from a 3/4 rear angle.

 

I don't get it...the Mayor of Detroit's mansion is the Manoogian Mansion. Maybe they were referencing that instead of the country where the mansion likely got its name from...being Detroit and all.

 

Yes the Mayor of a Detroit does indeed live in the Manoogian Mansion, but that's a story for another time 😀

 

I'm a sucker for minute details, so that piece of info regarding the color is pretty awesome to me.

 

what I will say is that yes it's true but I never intended for that particular outcome
you should have seen my face when they told us in a meeting that was what the color would be called

that pic is from the GM tech center,does it still look that way today?,they dont give tours of it?

 

yes it's a national landmark for architecture
it still looks the same
they don't give public tours,but architects and othes can organize tours with advanced notification
that campus was built in the mid '50's and it's some of Ero Saarinen's best work
