According from the Corvette forum over 30mpg is commonplace.

I have never checked my C7 mileage. I suspect 30 mpg. In the economy mode for turnpike driving in economy mode would even be better. Economy mode shuts off 4 of the 8 cylinders when they are not needed.

My 2009 ZR1 always got good mileage, mid to high 20's depending how it was driven.

That's is pretty dang amazing. It's strange people try and max out a 4 cylinder motor with turbos, like the WRX and on a good day that maybe gets 17mpg. Makes you wonder why more V8's aren't used, seeing it can create more power and better mileage.

    Thanks for the info guys.

If driven lightly, I believe it. I have a 90 415 stroker ZR-1 that will do 25 mpg at 1500 rpm at 70 mph.

My C5/C6 corvettes have done even better....I've often seen 30+ while cruising, even heavily modded ones, mostly thanks to that 0.50:1 6th gear. The lone exception is the C6 ZR1, with its much shorter 6th gear, that struggles to even get 20 mpg hwy.

The C7, with active fuel management, DI, high compression ratio, and the same tall cruising gear, continues the trend. The fact that the power is at an all time high is a pleasant perk.

I have a 2013 60th Anniversary ZR1.... trip to Florida a month ago and was getting 22mpg @ 80 w/AC running... Saw a maximum of 24mpg when down closer to 70. (In 6th you are barely turing 1500rpms though).

Yeah well I didn't say I liked getting 30mpg. :) But yes 60mph in 6th and it will exceed 30mpg for as long as you can stand it. Of course that's about 1500rpm and the car is barely loping along, and you're getting run over by a herd of Priuii. Real world, I take it on 250 mile trips all the time, and between a little in-town driving at each end and a 75mph cruise, I still see 25mpg average for the trip.

C4's were a bit better, they typically got about 31 mpg when cruised at 75 mph. My C5Z is a bit worse at 28-29... The direct injection engines with cylinder cutoff are better of course, but think about it, a car with outstanding performance that can get that kind of mileage is pretty extraordinary. So much for the engine being "old" technology..

I liked my C7 so much I went back to get a 14 Camaro SS the following week. I think it drives better than the Ferrari 458. Power is not there yet but it is coming.
It is good to say we Americans have finally caught the Europeans in handling. I still love European cars but now we can choose.

I am looking forward to driving a hell cat.

Jay, I only bought an SS Camaro. I would like to get a Z/28 but so far I have not been able to find one to look at and maybe drive.

I like the SS just not enough power at 442 hp. I like the way the Camaro SS handles but I would like more power. I was at the Chevy dealer today asking about a ZL1 and the Z/28.

In my area most cars on the dealers lot are automatics with 4 cylinder engines :). I had to order the C7 to get a manual transmission. I got lucky on the Camaro SS. The dealer called me to let me know he could get one for me within days if I wanted it, which he did. :)
