Does anyone own one or has anyone test driven this vehicle? Looking to replace my DD next spring. On the surface, it seems a bit pricey for what you get, until you take a look at its competition. Thoughts?
I have one and absolutely love it. Mine is a '14 with the 3.6 AWD. Easily the best non-sports car I have ever owned.
I would agree with this in regards to the 2.2T engine. I wasn't impressed with the car until I test drove the 3.6. It has more than enough power to make the car fun to drive.
IMHO any Cadillac today is a buy. I own a 2008 CTS and a 2006 STS-V, the best all-around car I've ever owned - that includes two Peugeots, two BMW's, a Rover 2000, a Porsche and 7 1/2 Ferraris - or driven - that includes top of the line Mercedes', Audis, Lexi, Acuras, Bentleys and Aston Martins. World-class build quality: I have a total combined 80,000 miles on the two Cadillacs and except for two minor recalls and one fix of a wire connector for the driver's seat adjustment that separated, both have been absolutely bullet-proof, nothing but routine fluids replenishment, and for the CTS, new brake pads and one set of new tires. Get the larger engine, the small one will make the car seem sluggish which it isn't.
I like them very much-their chassis development makes the competing German marques feel like a floppy Camry in comparison.
This adds nothing to the conversation, but a friend of mine who has had several high end cars has a 11 or 12 CTS-V and cant wait to give it back (leased it)
Odd........... I'm on my 3rd one and never want to give it up Had an '11' a '13 and now a '15 Not one single problem between the 3..not one. Go figure
Car was back at the dealer for various minor fixes, electronic stuff. He never complained about the performace, it had more to do with fit, finish and little hassels. The guy isn't overly patient either.
+1. Test drove ATS a year or so ago. Forget which engine. For price, I'd save my pennies up & get a Porsche Panamera V6....T
Too bad he's had issues. My DD is a '14 CTS-V coupe, and with almost 12K miles I haven't had a single issue. Tires are still good too. I keep my daily drivers for years, and after a couple BMW's and MB's with numerous $$$$ issues I couldn't be happier with the V. Drove the V and the ATS on the track thanks to a Cadalic drivers day and they both did very well. The V's engine speaks for itself, while the Brembo brakes are the best of any sub $200K car I ever driven: AMG, Ferrari, Lambo, Maser. A 2-3 yr old V with records and a good history is a tremendous value. If l was looking for a smaller car I'd seriously consider the ATS over others in the price range if (big IF) I could get over the triangular interior.
We're on our second SRX now and think it's fine. The CUE does take a minute to get used to but it's fine now as well. FWIW, I chose it over the MKX and the GLK. I recently recommended getting an ATS to a good friend with no hesitation. You could probably get a C 250 for similar $ but it will be a dog by comparison.
I am on my second CTS-V first a 2010 that I put 58K miles on without a single problem ever the second a 2013 CTS-V with 23000 miles and no problems .. neither one has ever gone back to the dealer...THey are the best car I have ever owned and I have and do own a lot of cars but for a DD it is hard to beat.... and very fast.. not much on gas mileage....
I can't figure out why the ATS coupe starts at 5k more than the sedan... Never mind, I see the coupe doesn't offer the base engine.
