Crazy as it sounds I am now the proud (crazy) owner of 3 Mosler MT900s. Red one has a supercharged Dutweiler engine of 820HP Blue on has a 480 HP crate motor Grey one has 620HP LS7 21 were made for the US market and one has been destroyed. So I now claim to own 15% of the existing fleet. We drove all 3 of them to lunch the day of the pictures and they were a lot of fun seeing them together. A lot of people don't appreciate what these cars represent but they are exactly what I always dreamed of in a car. Congratulations. I only own a single Mosler and it is one of my favorite cars. I bought mine new at the factory. It has never given me any trouble and very easy to find people to due repairs since its drive-train is Corvette. Sir you are my hero Awesome Lee
I think you are my hero, along with WilliamH, Napolis, and PhilT - you have a Mosler too???? WOW! You must have one of the best collections of cars here...totally cool!
Mike-your collection is stunning, you have great taste in cars! Wish I could have been there, I will be home next week, hope to see you driving around!! Came across this video today on YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CwLKHyRQvYA
Having three is awesome, and the fact that they all have different builds. It's an incredible car, being in one is an experience for sure. Congrats!
Never planned on owning 3 of them. I ordered the red one new and designed the paint scheme and ordered basically all of the available options. I always wanted a race car on the street and I was looking at the Saleen S7 but the Mosler was cheaper and had several other features I liked better. My first street legal race car was a true to form Mclaren M6BGT. It had an aluminum tub and a suspension from a Lola T-70. It was a crazy car and I started to get the willies when I realized that if I were to get in an accident I would be decapitated since it was so low. Plus when I hit a bump on a curve the entire car would lift off the ground and move to the outside of the turn. I always had to put air in the tires since the rims were magnesium and they were porous and would lose air pressure over night. So I was at Disneyland when I get a call from Hassan that a friend of his was selling his Mosler, (the blue one). I made a deal before I left the park. The blue car's owner had installed a Katech motor that was 720 HP normally aspirated. It was so loud that even with my fingers in my ears it hurt. It had a lot of race items including dive planes and a huge front splitter and race seats and harness. So I removed all of that stuff and installed a more reasonable LS-3 crate motor. Anyway I was loving the differences of the two cars one that was b-lls to the wall and got your adrenaline up every time you started it, and the blue one that was more civilized. Then Hassan called and said he wanted to sell his. He caught me at a crazy time and I committed to buy it as well. But I have a local friend who wants to buy the blue car. If he doesn't I will likely sell the grey one. I don't mind owning 3 of them because I firmly believe that there will be a market for the last of the non nanny cars such as the Mosler and the Ford GT. I really like my C7 vette and my wife's MP-4 but there is no way I would choose them over the GT or the Mosler. They almost seem like a gimmick or a toy compared to a real car. Definitely fun but not my first choice. Thanks for all of the kind remarks
Ha! I just bought up the MT900 in a a thread in the 458 section arguing about Lamborghini vs Ferrari, of all things! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia-488/486208-there-any-458-owners-upgraded-aventador-6.html Beautiful cars!
On the one hand, I love that these cars are just for us, ie, car nuts. On the other hand, I wish they had sold enough of them to stay in business and churn out a new model every once in a while with the same ethos. Congrats on the trio!
Warren Mosler moved to finance. Still making money but wish he would make an update to the Mosler Raptor....car was banned for being unbeatable in the 90's.
I had some business dealings with Warren, he is a character. Love the MT900 often thought it's what the corvette should've evolved into...
Always thought they were cool, but couldn't live with the interior. Just too kit-car for me. Same goes for the Saleen S7 -- awesome, but just not quite there for my budget and 1-car needs.
