    Stopped in to look at some trucks and they had one of these in the showroom. Not much on American cars, but this really looked pretty neat. You can delete AC/radio and back seat delete is standard, just like in the old days.

    No one knows the figures on how many are being produced. I think that would be the fist thing i would know. That said, it was hard to find the info on the net. Looked like maybe 17 in 2016 or 17 now? I don't trust those numbers, so-

    1-Anyone know?

    2-Anyone have one? Impressions?

    For 68k looks like a great car. Of course they are asking 90k.

    The new generation Ford Shelby GT350 was introduced in 2015, 137 were made, 50 of which were track packs, 50 were tech packs, and 37 R models.

    For 2016, approx 5000 cars total were made, tech and track, and approx 750 R models.

    For 2017, Ford made track pack standard, and you could add the creature comforts of the tech pack. A few R models are still to be built for a total of 1000 Rs.

    Ford announced a few months ago that the car will continue for the 2018 model year with a few new colors, but will not incorporate the new nose of the GT, since the GT350 uses its own unique face and rear bumper. Yet the GT will incorporate optionally some of the 350 features such as active exhaust and magnetic shocks

    So 1000 total R models, so not so rare over the run? Still a neat car and rare by mass production numbers however. What is the best combo or rarest in your opinion for the run?

    The car has a lat plane crank which allows the engine to rev higher. My 458 Ferrari had that and its rev max was 9500. The Mustang R was slightly less I think 8900 revs.

    The flat plane crank gives the car a unique exhaust note. kind of like the child of a Ferrari and a big American V8. Very loud exhaust note.

    Not sure of the HP , 495 hp if my memory is correct. This car handled much better than the solid axle cars .

    I did not buy the car but I am still thinking about it. I know nothing about the projected production numbers.

    The rarest IMO would be one of the 37 2015 Rs.

    After that you would have to go by color combo to seek the rarest, as there are two exterior options, stripe colors and a body color roof or a painted black roof, and each model year has unique colors.

    Again, just my opinion, a competition orange 2016 R or a 2017 yellow R or 2017 grabber blue R would probably be one of the rarer color combos.

    I go to drive a pre-production GT350R on the track at Road America. It sounds amazing and revs to the moon. It took a little while to get used to shifting at 7500 RPM, your natural inclination is to shift at about 6500. I saw ~145 mph at ~7500 RPM in 4th gear.

    I really wanted to buy one but the dealer markup on the R's was ridiculous. If they would even sell one to someone who wasn't their good friend. Buying a stripped Ranger 20 years ago apparently didn't qualify me as a good friend of Ford.

    Awesome cars. Didn't realize that few R's were made. I see a blue GT350 several times a week going to work, looks awesome in the flesh. And they do sound amazing. Usually roll the windows down when he takes off, and the guy driving likes the throttle.lol

    Thanks for the link, from reading around the forum, look like a few folks are getting close to Sticker on their purchases, although the dealer near Clemson is 20k plus over. I'm beginning to appreciate these, seem really neat to have a throw back to delete AC/back seat etc. And a good looking car at that. Huge rubber front and back, track tires on the showroom, etc.

    If you search on Cars.com, there are a ton of "base models" listed for MSRP. The "Rs" are still over sticker as far as I can tell.

    The R model is still $5k over MSRP in most areas. Some still wanting $10k over but its a hard sell now.

    I just picked up a lightning blue 2017 GT350 (non R). Deleted the resonators and it sounds great! The car is really incredible for 60k.

    I have one of the 50 track pack cars from 2015, magnetic metallic, 12k miles, stripe delete, only owned by Ford Motor Corp before me, Interested? Technically in its configuration it's 1/1..
