I only know of four. One 'Diamond Blue' MOFAZ 25th Anniversary, that was languishing at the TTDI showroom for quite a number of years and later at Jln.Sultan Ismail/in front of Hard Rock and was only sold in 2001 methinks...One Nero LP500S of Dato Shahrani, one 'infamous' Zaitun Industries' ex-boss' Bianco LP500S (now somewhere in Jln Duta's orang kaya bungalows and one Argento LP400S that was undergoing restoration at Top Marques Subang. Word has it that the resto LP400 dude bought it thinking that it was an LP500S but found out later that it was 'only' a 400...

Best person to ask on availability of sale should be Ron Lim. Give him a holler on 019-333 4318. Good Luck.

    Thanks Tifosi,

Is it the MOFAZ with reg no Wxx 111 that somebody spotted it at Sepang? Click here for the video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=q5H9-cJiN8c

Last year, I found a Countach for sale in Motor Trader but not from Ron Lim, based on the pic, the car red in colour.

Methinks the english plated CT was a private import. You can do the same now if you contact Rainbird..the classic car importers. Dunno whether they're still in business but my last conversation with them was about a year ago..they're still doing it and can arrange any car above 25yrs old to be brought in using their APs. Not sure of current situations but short of you having a 'saudara' studying/working in UK or anywhere overseas (UK best because of the RHD thingy and specialists like DK Engineering etc..)...very susah nak dapat AP oi....:) The CT will clear 25yrs easy for an LP400/500 or the 'S' models... Roadtax will be an advantage too since except for the Anni. model, most are above 25yrs old car and once the car passes the non too difficult PUSPAKOM test...roadtax only 25% of the quoted value...

As for who's selling the CTs...difficult because these cars are aged exotics and with the exception of er..one of them's 'illustrious' history, most are bonafide old skool rich men and these folks tend to keep low profiles. Therefore people like Ron, with his exotic owners database may be best to help you source for one. You can also go to Top Marques in Subang and inquire since if they're capable to do a resto on a CT, they might have knowledge of 'lubangs' on who's selling or interested in selling....

Note : I spoke to Rainbird enquiring them about bringing in a 246 Dino. Not for me, rather for a buddy 3 posts above this missive who's supposed to buy house(s) in MY and park some nice collectibles here...;)

Let me mingle a bit in KL 1st then see where to stay.

    Tifosi,

I know Dato Alies very well (CEO of Rainbird) and they still in business. Yes, they can import any car above 25 years old. Anyway, I interested on local unit because it is easier to check the car mantainance history. One more, I also need to pay for import duty if buy from Rainbird. But, if can't find any unit for sale here, I'll contact them.

How about JT cars? heard they import sports cars too...

    MHZ,

Like I said, if you're interested in a local unit and none are for sale, you've to ask around folks who are in the know about who owns what.... And if so happens you chance upon someone willing to sell you might have to nego really well. As it is, no one can tell how much would an LP400/500 or S models or DD or injection or QV or 25th Anniversary would fetch in Malaysia. So..it'll be more or less a willing buyer willing seller kinda thing and since yer the one looking for it..you might have to ask emmachizit and nego from there...

Parts for these cars are not easy to get. Heck..even an El Diablo is difficult to source parts for and kalau ada pun...mucho molto moolah.:p.. Having said that, NO car can ever match the Countach in terms of it's 'exoticness'.. and if you're really going for it I applaud you in doing so...:)

Yep, JT Cars can source almost anything, for a price of course. Ask for Jeffrey.

Difficult to get parts is one of the scary things, since this car age more than 20years, usually many parts need to be replace. Hope can get parts from Lamborghini Malaysia but doesn't know they got parts or not for older Lambo or only for new model..

Nope. The Red WEQ prefixed registered car is an example of the last of the Countach series. It's called the Countach 25th Anniversary. The candy blue example is also a 25th Anni. Checkout the different body accroutements. Take a look at the Lamborghini section.:)

Definitely waaay lower. For circa 600k you can get into a Diablo. The problem is not the buying, but in maintenance, and especially in the case of CP3...to make good the car. Parts for the CT are horrendously expensive and the older a Lambo gets, the costlier the parts are (Fcars pun serupa..). Got a friend who's uncle left her an Espada with a seized V12. For years the car sat at the Mobil Jln Universiti, PJ under a tarp. She called Portman Lambo (those days) and Verdi and the quotes she received almost kasi dia pengsan. She's royalty so she's used to send for parts overseas, sans tax for her Pcar but the quote for engine work was ridiculous, not to mention body parts prices... In the end she sold on the car to a chinese guy for MYR80k. Later heard that the dude sank 400k thereabouts into the car and still were not done......

I saw the white Countach the other day at Ron Lim's showroom. It's been there for a long time and you can see mosquito larvaes hanging around the spoiler. For sale perhaps? I saw an old Alfa Giulla going for RM34k maybe I might fancy that. Anyway who is the owner of the blue Countach? Because I've been looking at it everyday when I was in primary school and I haven't seen that car ever since. Really miss the blue Countach :)

Primary school? You ARE young....:D TTDI MOfaz showroom eh? I remember I was in VI and have a couple of friends staying around the area and after school I'd go with them back and all of us would drool over the 'diamond blue' CT Anni. :)
p/s : rather than a Giulia, I'd hunt for a teruk kes GTV 1750 (sweetest of 'em all) and restore it. It's a keeper.
