As a service place, yay or nay?
I have had some service repairs with Terzini Motore and would like to say that their services are nothing short of sensational. They also do complete restoration work to the highest standards.
I've been going to Terzini for the last eight years. Very good value for money and no bull. Can be very busy. Takes a genuine interest in all Italian cars old and new.
i don't have an issue with Sandro, nor have I had any bad dealings with him personally. He was working for Viola when Viola was killed and sort of took over the reins then, I believe.
Did you ever get sucked in by Viola? There are so many stories. I was with Rob M when he picked up his 400i from a $19K "service" (in 1989), it looked a million dollars. Then I happened to rub my finger gently over the air intake ducting and it came away silver. Turns out Joe had gone over everything with a spraycan of silver-frost.
Sandro looks after my car and has always been very satisfactory. Location is Bay Street Brighton. He remembers your name and is always available to talk to you about the car. The actual workshop is a great place to visit because there are cars being restored as well as cars he has in semi-permanent storage. Tony
yes of course i did. i almost don't know anyone who didn't. every mechanic has "stories"...I've heard some beauties about Sandro.
Discovered the place yesterday. Didn't know it existed. I was walking on Bay st, and saw this tinny roller door opened, and when I stuck my head inside saw 2 Lambos, number of Maser's and a plethora of Ferraris. Never ever heard it mentioned here before so I was curious.
You put yourself forward as the champion of the uninitiated newbie Ferrari owners, and that is your justification for the endless Phil crap we all suffer. Until your last post your crown was bent and tarnished; but still not the respose I expected knowing the story in question. The truth is there are horror stories about every mechanic who ever twirled a spanner on a Ferrari, be it Sandro, Phil, JA and all the rest without exception. I have seen some lovely Resto work from Sandro; but have not used him. There is at least one very unhappy customer too. You can only go by personal experience!
the story?? there's more than one. ask phil. and, in case you haven't noticed, smartarse, the story i relate to anyone who'll listen about phil is the one that happened to me PERSONALLY...and here's the link. www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm if you want to know about phil's PPIs, ask moretti.
oh dear, another dinner about oil leaks! considering we having peking ducks, that'd be on topic for once!!
I don't consider PP's FF trouble as a horror story, just a long drawn annoyance. My first experience with an exotic 'specialist' was a horror story. Took the car in for a clutch replacement to this guy that was highly recomended, went to pick it up 2 days later, to find the engine out and in pieces. He said he saw something wrong and if he didn't fix it the engine was ready to blow up. I was naive in those days and trusted the bull he was feeding me. 6 weeks laters, finaly got the car back after I threatened him to finish it. 1 week later, the car dies. I took it to the official dealer, who told me that the engine was screwed and that basically it would cost $22,000 to fix the damage that the so called 'specialist' did. I sued him afterwards, but I didn't get anything as he closed up the shop and dissapeared.
