I've had a few neighbours get calls from people claiming to be telstra support : Scammers pretending to be from Telstra Technical Support continue cold-calling Australians They say your computer is causing virus trouble for the Telstra infrastructure and they will terminate your connection in an hour if they aren't allowed onto your computer and ask for your details. Telstra don't do this so be careful to the not-so-IT-bent
Luckily my neighbours know I do a lot of IT stuff so they come over and ask me to check their tyre pressures .........errr, internet for them
